Best of luck to the swimmers representing our team at the All Star Meet today! Swim fast! GO BETTAS!
The rain cleared just in time for our annual awards ceremony. What a fun way to celebrate a great season! Good luck to the swimmers representing the team next weekend at the all star meet! GO BETTAS!
It’s official! Brambleton Bettas are the ODSL Division 2 CHAMPS!
Awards ceremony tonight at 6. Reminder it’s at the community center pool on Regal Wood.
The Mini Bettas showed off their progress and had a blast at their Mini Meet! Go Bettas!
Senior Spotlight: Reagan Petti
Reagan has been a Brambleton Bettas swimmer since she joined the Mini Bettas at age 5. While she took last summer off to focus on work and college apps, she has enjoyed being part of this team every summer including this one, her final senior summer. Sadly, she will be unable to attend the All Star meet but she qualified in her 3 favorite strokes...back, breast and IM. She hopes to continue swimming for the club team at James Madison University as she loves the exercise, challenge, and friendships she's made through swim team over the years. Just Keep Swimming, Brambleton Bettas!
Senior Spotlight: Olivia Miller
Livvy has been a member of the Bettas since 2015. Her favorite stroke is the butterfly. She has been an Intern, Junior Coach and Assistant Coach for the Bettas and helped with our winter clinics. Livvy likes most about Bettas: seeing friends, coaching young kids, fun atmosphere of summer swim, and, of course, her dad’s laser light shows! Livvy also swam for the Independence HS team and was on the state teams her junior and senior years. She will attend the University of Pittsburgh in the Fall of 2024 on a Pre-Law track and plans to swim on the Pitt Club Swim Team.
Good luck, Livvy!
Team Party TONIGHT (July 18th) from 6-8pm check your email for details
The Bettas would like to congratulate and thank our graduating seniors, Ryan Jastrzembski, Olivia Miller, Reagan Petti and Estelle Griffin. These seniors have been an integral part of this team as swimmers and coaches. If you would like to contribute, some ideas include notes from their teammates, gift cards, gas money, drawings from our youngest swimmers - anything to brighten their day would be appreciated! Bags for donations are set out a practices this week and also at the awards ceremony on 7/20.
Senior Spotlight: Estelle Griffin
Estelle has been a Betta since first grade! Bettas sparked her love for swimming and she has swam for the team every year for the past 12 years. In addition to the Bettas, she swims for the Nations Capital Swim Club (NCAP) and swam varsity for Independence High School all four years. This year she was an Indy team captain and finished her Independence swimming year by competing in the State Championship meet. Throughout her swimming career, she has always loved her time swimming with the Bettas! Next year Estelle will be attending the James Madison University Honors College where she will be studying Biology.
Good luck, Estelle!
Senior Spotlight: Ryan Jastrzembski
Ryan Jastrzembski has been swimming competitively since he was 4 years old. He has been a member of the Brambleton Bettas for the past 3 years. His favorite part of summer swim is swimming in the 200 Open Free Relay. He has been a member of the Independence High School Swim team for 4 years and has earned medals at both regional and state championships. Ryan will be attending Virginia Tech in the fall majoring in Computer Engineering. He also swims for Machine Aquatics and is looking forward to competing at the ISCA Summer Senior Blast in Tampa Florida this month. GOOD LUCK RJ! The Bettas are rooting for you!
