Learn how to Vacuum! ⬇️ Read below to learn!
Let me guess, you go to the gym & do endless crunches day in & day out hoping to have a smaller waist without realizing that your abs are actually a muscle too, which grows like any other muscle. And on top of all that, you have a day dedicated to abs 😁. You’re not alone! I use to do that, and most people still do. If you’re working out right, you don’t need a day dedicated to abs! Not only is it inefficient; it’s also bad for your spine! Ok...enough with my rant!
Here’s 3 steps you can do to get a tighter waist & improve posture/back pain! ⬇️
1️⃣ : First step; lying down on your back with your knees up, and heels close to your butt; kinda like if you were going to do a bridge pose.
2️⃣: Second step; take a deep breath of air through your mouth, and then exhale through your mouth until completely out of air.
3️⃣: Third step; Imagine sucking your belly button into your spine; it will feel weird at first, but with practice, you will be able to get it done. Hold this contraction first for 10 seconds, and then breath for 10-20 seconds and repeat! This is the easiest position to learn in, since you’ll have gravity working with you on your back and you’ll be able to see how it feels.
➡️EXTRA #4 : Once you’ve mastered the lying on your back bent knee position; move to a standing or bent over position on your hands and knees; kinda like a cat cow pose in yoga. This is the hardest position since now you are fighting against gravity. Same thing as above⬆️. Exhale completely and then suck your stomach/belly to your spine; as you get better...keep trying to increase your breath hold time to eventually a vacuum hold for 1 minute.
Personally what I have used to help me increase my breath hold is a free diving table app. They are free, so download it and start practicing. It will teach you how to breath normal for some time and then when you hold your breath, you’ll exhale and hold the vacuum for the prescribed length of time. It’s all about breathing control! Yes, it’ll suck the first time you do it! But eventually to it body will adapt!

As thanksgiving comes to a close, I’m reminded of what’s truly important in life: Family, & some good food 😋.

⬇️🚨(PLEASE READ) 🚨⬇️
All too often we judge people without knowing who they are, where they came from, their experiences, struggles, etc. Especially in today’s day in age, with social media and just the media in general; we form opinions without fully knowing someone or something.
For instance, people all too often look at me & judge me by thinking that I’m some cocky meat head bodybuilder dude that just lifts weights & eats 🐔 & 🥦 all day 😂, when that couldn’t be further from the truth! I barely lift weights.
I’m a believer of movement, skills, new experiences, & the endless pursuit of learning! Life is more then just lifting weights for me! It’s about making new experiences & pushing yourself in new ways mentally & physically!
Forming opinions based on hearsay or biased subjective beliefs, is a one-way ticket to self-destruction. Learn to open your mind, do the research, & don’t allow other people to sway your mind based on an opinion.
The very definition of Opinion: a view or judgment formed about something, not necessarily based on fact or knowledge.
So, moral of the story is, opinions are not definite. Live your life based on your moral values, not other people’s opinions! When you start doing that, that’s when you start growing, that’s when the magic happens!

Doubt: : to call into question the truth of : to be uncertain or in doubt about. 🚨🔽( PLEASE READ) ⬇️🚨
I’m an over-thinker. I over analyze things, situations, people, etc. And often times it’s lead me down a path to self-doubt & lack of confidence. I’ve struggled with it my whole life. Luckily for me, I’ve put all that overthinking, negativity, & insecurities into my training; but there’s only so much training one can do.
There was times I’ve literally found myself working out the entire day& night, not even eating one meal, only to be depressed when I was done! I’ve thought to myself, how much damn training do I have to do to stop these annoying, pestering, thoughts inside my head!
I’ve found that there isn’t an easy solution, no quick fix, no 2 week program, not even working out all day & night can fix it. It can help, but there will never be a time that these doubts, or insecurities go away. You just become better at dealing with them. You start to understand them and use them to your advantage. It’s always a work in progress! It will never be easy. Life doesn’t work that way!
There are things you can do though to help move past these doubts. ⬇️
This is what drives me. ⬇️
1.) Develop a routine- I don’t care what you do; make sure you have a morning routine! My routine is pretty straightforward: wake up early, brush teeth, shot of apple cider vinegar, make coffee, read something positive, then go workout, usually cardio.
2.) Surround yourself with 🐺- iron sharpens iron! I’ve literally just canceled my membership to a gym today, because there wasn’t any hungry 🐺 around. Why? Because I want to be surrounded by people who are motivated to workout, not just go through the motions! This applies to friends as well! You don’t have to be a psycho on the weights; I just love being around people that are motivated; because A side effect of that is, you become better too.
3.) Increase your self-awareness- This is probably one of the hardest ones. Being able to self-reflect and understand that you may have an issue, and actively seek help for it.
