So many women have learned to survive by pushing through.

Through exhaustion.
Through grief.
Through caregiving.
Through responsibility.

But survival mode has a cost.

In the latest Embracing Flow podcast episode, I sit down with nervous system educator Erin Cutrone to explore how stress, trauma, and unprocessed experiences live in the body — and how we can begin to feel safe again.

This episode is especially for women 35+ who are balancing work, motherhood, caregiving, and life — and are tired of feeling like their body is betraying them.

Flow Q for today:

When you were growing up, where did most of your information about body changes come from?

School? Family? Friends? Trial and error?

There’s no right or wrong answer — just noticing where we learned (or didn’t) can be really eye-opening.

Did you know your body is not designed to function the same way every single day?

Yet most women were taught to expect consistency — in energy, focus, mood, and productivity.

Your body isn’t broken.
It’s rhythmic.
It’s intelligent.
It’s communicating.

This is what living in Flow is really about — learning to work with your body instead of fighting it.

Tomorrow, I’ll share a simple Flow Fact to take this deeper. 💙

Welcome back to Flow.

Flow Q: Why is my period late?

Most women assume a late period means something is wrong — but in many cases, it’s actually a sign of delayed ovulation.

Your period isn’t truly “late.”
Your ovulation simply shifted, and the timing of your period followed.

Ovulation can be delayed by:
• Emotional stress
• Adrenaline-filled weeks
• Travel
• Poor sleep
• Caregiving load
• Routine changes
• Illness or recovery
• Excitement
• Big life moments

When life gets fuller or heavier, your body responds by postponing ovulation to protect you.

I’m currently on cycle day 30 with no detected ovulation. My typical cycle is 23–25 days — nothing is “wrong.” My body is simply reflecting how full this past month has been. Before I understood cycles, this delay of my period would have put me into a panic attack with trips to the drug store.

If your period is later than expected, ask yourself:
What has shifted in my stress, sleep, emotions, or routine?
Where can I support myself more?

Your cycle is your monthly feedback loop.
A “late” period often just means your body needed more time.

Stress + hormones + the holiday season + YOUR delayed ovulation

This week, I’m easing back into routine with a podcast episode that feels especially relevant:

🎧 Episode 76 — What Stress Really Does to Your Hormones

I’m personally on day 30 of my cycle right now with no detected ovulation — and my typical cycle is 23–25 days.

Even as someone who teaches cycle literacy… it still happens. Not because something is wrong.

But because the last month held so much:
• High-stakes pageant prep
• Travel + adrenaline
• Shifting sleep
• Caregiving
• Emotional processing
• Routines changing
• A lot of excitement + a lot of stress

Your body always responds to your life — not your calendar.

If you’re noticing shifts like delayed ovulation, more PMS, or changes in energy… you’re not alone.
Your cycle is your built-in feedback loop.

NEW EPISODE: “You Don’t Need a Spa Day — You Need Self-Reconnection”

This week on Embracing Flow, I sat down with my PolkaDot sister, wellness and creativity guide Stephanie Keenan Ray, for one of the most heartfelt conversations I’ve had in a long time.

We talked about:
🌿 Essential oils for hormones and emotional balance
🎨 Creativity as a form of healing
💛 Why stress changes who we think we are
🌊 Simple grounding rituals women desperately need
👧 Rediscovering your “little girl self” beneath the overwhelm

If you’ve been feeling stretched thin, craving quiet, or just trying to find your way back to you… this episode is a beautiful place to land.

Orientation day! ✨

It’s officially time to kick off pageant weekend and connect with the amazing women who make this sisterhood so special. From rehearsals to laughter-filled introductions, this is where the sparkle truly begins. I want to wish all my fellow United States of America’s Pennsylvania sisters the very best of luck. 💎

Each of us brings our own story, purpose, and passion to the stage — and that’s what makes the USOA system shine.

As we begin this exciting weekend, I’m reminding myself that glitter fades, but grace remains. Here’s to celebrating confidence, community, and courage in every phase. 💖 Let’s empower, inspire, uplift – and sparkle every step of the way!👑

Today and every day, I’m thankful for the people who make this journey possible — my family, friends, community, and the incredible women of the USOA Pennsylvania sisterhood. 💙

Each moment — from appearances and interviews to late-night prep sessions — has been a reminder of how much love and teamwork go into pursuing a dream.

I’m especially grateful for my two boys and partner, Scott, who remind me daily that strength and compassion can coexist. Watching them cheer me on while chasing their own goals makes every step of this experience even more meaningful.

Here’s to everyone who lifts others up while chasing their own version of the crown. 👑✨
