GTA Online PSN Sports & Super Racing Series

GTA Online PSN Sports & Super Racing Series The SSRS is a very competitive racing series being held on Grand Theft Auto Online for Playstation Network. Come join the competition on PS4! No exceptions.

Welcome to the homepage for the Sports & Super Racing Series held on PSN's Grand Theft Auto Online. This series holds some of the toughest competition you will find anywhere in GTA Online. Come join the fun and fierce competition! The SSRS consists of "non-contact" racing on GTA Online Created/Verified land lap race courses ONLY. This will insure that anyone registered for an event on a certain co

urse has had the same chance as anyone else to see the course and get some practice time on such. Only courses allowing both Sports Class and Super Class vehicles (both upgraded and stock) will be a part of the race pool. (Not every course will allow for the usage of all stock vehicles in each class. Test accordingly pre-event.) We race "non-contact" races to insure no "Catch Up" feature is used as well as to insure than any new or unknown registered participants won't change the outcome of a race with losing their cool, trolling, etc. "Weather"/"Time of Day" will always be set to current. This series accepts the elements and wants you to be able to handle whatever may be thrown in your direction. No "Camera Lock" will be used. Race the way that you are most comfortable and competitive. The series is split up into 4 separate quarters over the year with 5 races being scheduled within each of the quarter's span. All courses and the dates of each event will be announced prior to the beginning of each quarter. January - March (Winter Quarter)
April - June (Spring Quarter)
July - September (Summer Quarter)
October - December (Fall Quarter)

Each quarter will determine a Quarter Class Champion for each class as well as an overall High Point Champion (participant with the most total combined points from all classes) for the entire quarter. That's a total of 5 championships per quarter. Each quarter's class championship will have the reward of $10.00 and the top 3 high point positions for each quarter will receive, 1st place - $50.00 or $50 PSN Card, 2nd place - $20.00 or $20 PSN Card, and 3rd place - $10.00. All of these prizes will be paid in US dollars. The most improved driver throughout the entirety of each quarter will receive the "On The Move" Award. With this award comes a $10.00 US reward as well. $130.00 in total prizes up for grabs. Once we reach the last event of the year, all points from each of the 4 quarters will be added up and a Series World Ranking/SSRS Series World Champion will be crowned. The top 3 ranking positions will receive prizes in decreasing monetary amounts. Same as the quarter high point rankings. (1st - $50.00 or $50 PSN Card, 2nd - $20.00 or $20 PSN Card, and 3rd - $10.00 all in US Dollars.) That's $210.00 in prizes to be paid out after the Fall Quarter.

4 different classes as follows:

Sport Stock (Customs off)
Sport Modified (Customs on)
Super Stock (Customs off)
Super Modified (Customs on)

The SSRS keeps track of it's own record lap times. If you set a "Best Lap" during an event, you have a chance at holding the SSRS Lap Record. These records are kept by class on each course within the SSRS race pool. Records can be set/broken during any heat/elimination heat within an event. Racing format is as follows:

Each class will have 2 heats using a point system to determine an overall winner. (Example: Heat 1 points will be combined with heat 2 points. Once all points have been totaled this will determine the overall winner of the class.) Ties will be broken by who has the best total race time combined of both heats. If you DNF, you are still rewarded points for what position you DNF in. If you do not start a race, you will receive no points for that race. Elimination Heats Explained:

It's very simple. If we have more registered racers than the course allows to race at one time, we will run elimination heats in order to break the field down. You will be chosen for a certain elimination heat by random draw. The number of elimination heats needed will be determined by the amount of registered participants we have at any of the events. All participants will only get ONE elimination heat scored for points. If you are to be eliminated from a certain class you will only receive points for the one heat you completed. Only those who advance to the final heat will get scored for a second heat. The top finishers of each elimination heat that equal the number of allowed spots in the race cap will advance. Total race times will determine the advancement of those trying to get the final transfer position when the heats have an unequal amount of participants. All events are open to ANYONE wishing to register for competition. There will be register caps as to make sure that the events do not last too long and to insure that only a certain amount of racing is allowed to all participants and to better and more equally keep up with points. Registration is ONLY accepted via PSN message. I keep track of them by time stamp in order to know who registered before who. Registration will be under a first come first serve ruling. Must have me (GOOBER_John390) added as a friend on PSN in order to be invited to the private "Invite Only" lobby before event start time. Invites to this private lobby will be sent out at 6PM (EST)/5PM (CST). Racing will begin promptly at 6:30PM (EST)/5:30PM (CST). Date for the events are TBD. Registration will be open from 1 week prior to event until the day before the start of the event ends. Each class must have at least 3 registered participants to be raced. Less than 3 and it will be removed from the schedule for that event. No more than the register cap will be allowed for any event. Once the register cap is met, registration for the event is closed. The registration cap will always be the limit of participants allowed within a lobby at any time. In your registration message to me on PSN please say something along the lines of, "I am registering for "event name". This will limit confusion and help to make the registering process much more timely. Once registered your spot in the event is held open regardless of your being there until the end of the event. If you are not present at the start of a certain class, as long as elimination heats are not needed, you are permitted to start the following heat. In the event that you are unable to make the event before an elimination heat in a certain class is run, you are not eligible for that class and must wait until the next class begins. There is no guarantee to having a speedy event. Sometimes we encounter issues that we have to face during the event and will work through accordingly. If all goes to plan it will be a smooth and steady flow and the event will go off without a hitch. But depending on the amount of elimination heats needed, technical issues, etc., sometimes things move a bit slow. So be forewarned that some events may end up being lengthy. At the least you are looking at 8 heats of racing. Dependent upon how many people register and the need for elimination heats, that number can increase. Set aside a few hours to be available for these events. Or just stay as long as you're able/come when you can and salvage all the points you wish. The Event Schedule will always be the same. Registration Closes/Private Lobby Invites are sent. Sport Stock Class Heats start the event off. Sport Modified Heats up next. Super Stock Heats follow suit. Super Modified Heats end the event off. (Between each class we take a small break and the points are totaled. We then announce the finishing positions. After Super Modified we announce not only the Super Modified overall but also the Event highpoint totals.) Course size will determine the laps run during each event:

Courses Under 1 Mile: 10 Lap Heats/ 5 Lap Elimination Heats

Courses Between 1-2 Miles: 8 Lap Heats/ 3 Lap Elimination Heats

Courses Between 2-5 Miles: 5 Lap Heats/ 2 Lap Elimination Heats

Courses Over 5 Miles: 3 Lap Heats/ 1 Lap Elimination Heats

The Rockstar point system will NOT be used for this series. I will be using a modified version of the point system used in the NBRA (National Boat Racing Association)

Points will be awarded for every position. The shortest course of each quarter will be rewarding points +1/2 to all participants. (400pts. will equal 600pts. instead) The longest course of each quarter will be awarding double points to all participants. will equal 800pts. instead) There is also a way to earn bonus points. The driver who sets the fastest lap during each race will be rewarded with 100 points. At the short course event they will be rewarded with 150 points (points +1/2) and at the long course event they will be rewarded with 200 points (double points). Points System is as follows:
