1️⃣ How did you get started in sim racing, and what keeps you coming back?
I got started in April of 2021, and was actually in quarantine at college with COVID when I ran my first races on iRacing. What keeps me coming back is the awesome communities and competitive racing I’ve found in a few leagues.
2️⃣ Describe your driving style in three words.
Calculated, patient, opportunistic
3️⃣ What’s your biggest strength in the Next-Gen car?
(Restarts, long runs, tire saving, qualifying, pit strategy, etc.)
My strength is definitely tire saving. I did a lot of short track racing when I started on iRacing and it was all about tire management.
4️⃣ What’s one part of your race craft you’re trying to improve this season?
I’ve been trying to improve my short-run and qualifying pace. A good qualifying effort goes a long way to set up a good finish.
5️⃣ What’s your mindset on a late-race restart with 5 laps to go?
I’m taking whatever gap I can to get to the front. I might not make friends doing it, but I’d expect the same from them.
6️⃣ Who in this league pushes you the hardest on track?
There’s a few, namely Stemp, Cedrick, and Banks. Those are the guys I aim to compete with every week, and none of them make it easy.
7️⃣ Are you more of a “track position at all costs” driver or a long-run tire manager?
My first priority in any race is making sure I take care of tires. They are so valuable now with the new next gen model that it plays into my style more than before.
8️⃣ What’s your walk-up song when you grid up?
Hail to the King - Avenged Sevenfold
9️⃣ What’s your biggest on-track pet peeve?
Racing hard for position early in a race. Yes track position is important, but there’s not really a need to fight for your life on lap 10.
🔟 If you get into someone racing for the win… are you sending a “my bad” message, or calling it hard racing?
I wouldn’t necessarily start with “my bad” but I’d definitely talk to them about the finish. I’m all for hard racing, and a door or a bumper for the win doesn’t bother me as long as we don’t wreck. If anything I’d be gushing about how fun it was racing hard.
