Red Sox fans, we just watched Craig Breslow’s first full offseason in charge turn into a flurry of trades, highlighted by a serious push to rebuild the starting rotation while shuffling the edges of the roster.​

What the Red Sox Have Done
Breslow’s biggest splash has come on the mound, trading for veteran right-hander Sonny Gray and cash from the Cardinals to anchor the 2026 rotation. He followed that by swinging a five-player deal with the Pirates to land starter Johan Oviedo, plus lefty Tyler Samaniego and catching prospect Adonys Guzman, sending outfielder Jhostynxon Garcia and pitcher Jesus Travieso to Pittsburgh.​

Around the margins, the front office has stayed busy with depth moves, adding multiple catchers (including Luke Heyman and Ronny Hernandez), infielder Tristan Gray, and outfielder Braiden Ward in smaller trades. These deals are clearly aimed at raising the floor of the roster and building injury insurance across the diamond rather than grabbing headlines.​

How Do You Feel About It?
Some fans will see this as a clear signal that pitching is finally being treated as the top priority, with Gray and Oviedo giving the rotation much-needed stability and upside. Others may still be waiting for that true lineup-changing bat or a more aggressive push on the position-player side to feel like this team is ready to compete deep into October.​

Celtics fans… are we watching Jordan Walsh level up in real time?! 👀☘️

This dude has gone from “nice project piece” to “wait, we might really have something here” over the last couple games. The energy, the shot-making, the defense – it all feels different right now. You can see the confidence every time he lets a three fly or crashes the glass.​

What hits hardest as a fan is knowing this isn’t coming out of nowhere. He was HOOPING in Maine last year, putting up legit scoring numbers and filling the box score, and now that same G League star is starting to show up in a Celtics jersey when it actually counts. On a team with championship expectations, finding a young homegrown wing who looks ready to help win games? That’s the good stuff.​

If this is the version of Jordan Walsh we’re getting going forward, Brad and the front office might have cooked up another gem. Keep letting the kid eat, Joe – Celtics Nation is READY for the Jordan Walsh era.

The Red Sox have some big roster decisions to make this week — and things could get interesting before the deadline.

Boston needs to protect eligible prospects from the upcoming Rule 5 Draft and decide which arbitration-eligible players will be tendered contracts. According to reports, Tanner Houck isn’t among those on the chopping block — even though he’s expected to miss most (if not all) of next season after Tommy John surgery.

Craig Breslow is reportedly sticking with Houck, keeping faith in his long-term value even though he won’t hit free agency until 2028. But that loyalty may not extend to everyone: Nathaniel Lowe and Josh Winckowski might not be tendered contracts, with Lowe possibly re-signing at a smaller number.

Meanwhile, guys like Kutter Crawford, Triston Casas, Connor Wong, and Jarren Duran are locked in — Duran and Criswell have already signed. Others like Vaughn Grissom, David Hamilton, Nate Eaton, and Nick Sogard are hanging on… at least for now.
