How is this for a blast from the past 😀!

16 summers ago 🤯, still forgetting to unclip at times 🤣 (haven’t we all fallen over once or twice?) , quickly dreaming BIG and truly enjoying the process to this day - it would be 3 years before I did my very first Ironman and as they say the rest is history 🤝

Dream big kids (and adults) 💫

Time trial Tuesday sweaty edition 🤠 because it’s June in TX which means outdoor temps & humidity are 📈 and slowly but surely reaching the obnoxious level 😂🥵🫠

It also means when training outdoors that the 🚴🏻‍♀️power or 🏃🏻‍♀️ pace will be a lower at the same HR which doesn’t mean you are not getting more fit, it just means your body is dealing with the extreme elements 🥵 and needs to adjust 👍. And finally, staying hydrated becomes a full time job!

Happy training 😀

First time back outside on the 🚀 since IMTX & we were vibing 😉🎶🎤 even if we have slowly but surely entered the part of the year when winning a wet tshirt or jersey contest is always a possibility 😂🥵💦

As I wait for to respond about my 2027 registration thanks to my “extraordinary” modeling abilities 🤣🤣🤣 (I am still hopeful they will 🤞🤞🤞), here is a little trip down memory lane on this Friday ⬇️

10 years ago yesterday!!!! 🤯🤠😱

My very first Ironman Texas and one I’ll certainly never forget! What started out as I just want to do a race with similar conditions to Kona so I can get more experience racing in the heat & humidity turned to SO MUCH MORE and I started calling the Woodlands my home 🏡 2.5 years later 😀

May 14th, 2016: The laat time race was in May - can you say 🔥🔥🔥

📸 1: The empty finish line - I was def one of the last few athletes across the line before the crazy storm rolled through, temps dropped by 30 degrees and race was paused ⛈️🌩️🌪️

📸 2: The finish line just moments before I made it there 😳

📸 3 & 4: We only 🏊‍♀️ in the lake and never went into the canal due to previous flooding - it was actually awesome! T1 was in Nortshore park

📸 5 & 6: The 🚴🏻‍♀️ was 94 miles with about 100+ turns 😳 because the original course was flooded 😢! It was a mayhem but the volunteers were so amazing and despite such a crazy bike course I felt safe and so well supported it was one of the reasons I wanted to come back for the full experience

📸 7: pre storm humidity is absolutely insane 🥵🥵🥵 and 99% of that run course was absolutely suffocating

And you all know what happened next! I have raced IMTX every year since then except for the Covid years because it really is amazing as they say and now I can even sleep in my own 🛌😎

See y’all in 2027? 💃🏻🤠🪩

Two days ago I woke up to an email from (aaaaaaaand lots of texts, msgs etc from friends and the social media 🌎) telling me & all of you to sign up for IMTX 2027 🤠 Have you? 😜 Then I opened YouTube (swipe right), and there I was again 😱😀🙈 … pretty darn cool 😀👍

I know Ironman could have chosen anyone, so this kind of like winning lottery just without the 💰😂

So why not see if “Anything Is Possible” and maybe will decide to respond to this AND give me a free entry to next years “party on the Hardy” aka IMTX 2027 🤠

What do you guys think? It would be my 9th Ironman Texas since 2016, and nice little gesture from Ironman, wouldn’t it?

Like, comment, share - lets see if we can make it happen 🙏

Recovery Rant🚨🆘🚨

I don’t want to preach, but my social media algorithm since IMTX seems to want to show me “hero” athletes that apparently believe recovery is overrated 😡

And guess what - depending on how your race went, especially at the Ironman distance, you may or may not be physically sore, but you are most definitely fatigued regardless your age, gender, athletic background or your level. Whether your race went well or not, you may be excited to keep building , to keep improving, to keep driving but guess what - your hormones, your muscles, your mind don’t care! We are all depleted whether we think we are or not. 🤷🏻‍♀️

👉Recovery takes courage!
👉Recovery doesn’t mean you are lazy!
👉Recovery will actually help your next performance IF you have the confidence to take it!
👉Recovery not only minimizes future risk of physical injury or burnout BUT it also then enables you to absorb training (post recovery period).

It doesn’t mean you have to sit on the couch🛋️ and do nothing, BUT you certainly shouldn’t be doing any structured sessions, not to mention intervals, and the list goes on in the week after the event. Go for an easy/short float, or spin, walk - running is definitely the most tricky post IM and has the highest injury risk so tread carefully.

We are all different and my personal recovery looked a lot different and took a long longer after my first Ironman vs my 20th ironman but I will always take time to recover and I hope you do too!

Social media is cool and all but please do NOT try to just copy what someone else does. Find yourself a coach you trust and listen to, have a plan, communicate and please - be smart because contrary to popular believe, none of us are robots!
