Hi. ππ½ Iβm Hollie and I just turned 39. Long post - Vulnerability alert. π¨ 10 years ago, after my second son was born I lost 60 lbs after learning about my under-active thyroid + hashimotos. I was able to detox and get it all under control. I have maintained my lab numbers with nutrition and exercise all this time - and helped some others do the same.
Today - I saw a number on the scale π I have never seen before unless I was pregnant. I have gained weight.
The last few years have been a struggle in my body. Even as someone who has helped so many other people have healthy and natural weight loss.
βΌοΈI am actively troubleshooting, so NO ADVICE is needed.
I just want to say this reminder to myself and every other active 35+ mama out there struggling: ππ½the scale doesnβt define us.ππ½ It is a tool. A resource.
And no matter what the scale says, I know:
ππ½ββοΈ I have walked and ran more miles in 2026 than any other year in my life.
πͺπ½ I have lifted heavier in 2026 than any other year in my life.
π₯³ I have almost officially been gluten and caffeine free for TEN years. π±
I am taking care of the body God gave me.
So the scale number is higher than Iβd like it to be. I havenβt wanted to talk about it until I can lower it, but Iβm over that now.
I refuse to ignore the wins.
And to all the other ladies, you should too.
If you canβt claim any kind of strength or endurance or nutrition health in your current season, we are always willing to help with that. But do those things for health, not for skinny. π«Άπ½
I am actively troubleshooting to get rid of some of this weight, donβt get me wrong. However, I will not sacrifice my ability, energy, or strength to accomplish that. Period. Strong > Skinny. π―
Hormones changes and thyroid, be damned. Donβt let any of it steal joy from your accomplishments. And donβt let the scale moving be your only goal. We are so much more than that. ππ½
Yes and amen.
