Planning a Great Event Takes Many Hats!

As many of you know, bringing a major community event to life requires a lot of moving parts and wearing many different hats. Today, we are excited to hand the hat over to our very own BFHS Golf Coach!

We are officially in the brainstorming phase, cooking up a mix of fun, lighthearted, and highly competitive ideas to make this year's Badger Backers Golf Tournament absolutely unforgettable. Trust us, you won't want to miss this one. Stay tuned for details!

A big moment for the soccer program!

The BAC team wants to send a huge thank you to Paul Bonnell as he hands over the whistle. Paul, thank you for all the heart and leadership you poured into the soccer program over the years. We’re wishing you nothing but the best, and we hope this next chapter is full of all the rest, relaxation, and peace that you’ve earned.

And with that, we’re excited to congratulate Matthew Solis as the new Head Coach of the BFHS Boys soccer team! Matthew, we’re so glad to have you leading the way. We can’t wait to see the team grow under your coaching. We are cheering you on as you lead the boys to new heights.

Here’s to a rewarding season full of hard work, celebration, and plenty of wins.

We have some exciting news to share…. Our bylaws were officially approved by the board last night. We are eager to continue moving forward and making positive impacts for our athletes and programs.

As we begin fundraising efforts, one of our biggest goals is to ask less from local businesses and instead have our athletes work hard to earn support and donations from the community. We’re excited to build something our kids can truly be proud of.

So mark your calendars! Our first major fundraising event will be a golf tournament at Mirror Lake Golf Course on August 29th. More information about this event will be coming soon.

We’re also excited to officially share our new website. If you feel led to donate before our main fundraising events begin, there is a PayPal donation link available on the website.

My name is Alan Dickson. I was born and raised next door in Montana. I have been a resident of Boundary County for over 18 years. I was recently elected President of the newly formed Badger Athletics Collective (BAC). I love all sports and serving my community. It all started in my youth playing baseball, basketball, and football, while simultaneously earning my way up to the rank of Eagle Scout in the BSA. Sports and community service at the same time!!!

After high school, these endeavors continued while playing club baseball at Utah State University (Northern Beehive League), which later joined the National Club Baseball Association (NCBA). I was also preparing to serve a two-year full-time mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints that took me to South Texas from 2000 to 2002, where I discovered my current career in service to my country in Federal Law Enforcement.

I joined the BAC for the opportunity to serve our high school Badger Athletes. The Mission of the BAC is to support, promote, and enhance Badger athletic programs by fostering community involvement, providing financial accountability and volunteer support, and encouraging student athletes to achieve excellence in sportsmanship, teamwork, and growth. Through our efforts, the BAC aims to help all athletic programs progress and create positive, well-rounded quality experiences for every athlete by providing resources that will help teams grow, compete, and succeed in each Badger athletic arena.

I’m Travis Stolley, Vice President of the newly formed Badger Athletics Collective. I’m proud to serve the student-athletes of Bonners Ferry High School by helping fill the gaps where district budgets fall short. Drawing on my years of community leadership and operational experience alongside my background as a business owner, I’m committed to careful budget management and strong collaboration with the school board to ensure every dollar supports our athletes effectively. As a 2005 BFHS graduate and former wrestling coach for the Badgers, I’ve seen up close how sports build resilience, teamwork, discipline, and confidence that last far beyond the mat, field, or court. Our Collective exists to make sure every Badger athlete has the equipment, facility support, travel help, and resources they need to compete, develop their skills, and thrive—no matter which sport they love.

I’m especially excited about this new organization because it gives us a dedicated, unified way to support all athletic programs at BFHS. We want to remove financial barriers so our students can focus on what matters most: growing as athletes, representing our community with pride, and creating life skills with their teammates. In our tight-knit town of Bonners Ferry, strong athletics programs do more than produce better athletes, they bring families and the whole community closer together.

I truly hope the Badger Athletics Collective becomes a lasting force for good that rallies local businesses, families, and alumni to invest in our youth. By coming together to back our student-athletes today, we’re helping shape successful futures both on and off the field. Go Badgers, let’s build something meaningful for the next generation!
