Good Evening,
Tonight was one of my favorite nights as we are gearing up and getting ready to kick off another fun season with Boiling Springs Little League. Jerseys, hats, and socks were picked up by most of our coaches tonight and you should be getting those soon. If your coach did not pick up your jerseys tonight they will have them for you by your first game next week. There were some mistakes and missing items that we will get situated ASAP, so thank you for your patience with these issues.
As we are starting our season next week I wanted to provide you all with a couple important updates and reminders about our season. For our 7-12 year old age groups we have reviewed the proposed schedule sent to us by Forest City yesterday in the limited games we will play against them and are awaiting their confirmation on a couple of changes/issues we had. We hope to have that to you by this weekend and will ensure you have it as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work with them to schedule some interleague games.
We have received several questions regarding required safety equipment for our T-Ball divisions, and we’d like to provide some clarification. All players are expected to wear a helmet while batting and running the bases. This is especially important in our 5–6 age group, where gameplay will change slightly this season. When your team is batting, the opposing team will now have the opportunity to attempt outs by throwing or tagging runners in a modified version of traditional gameplay. As a result, balls may be thrown toward bases during play. While we continue to use softer balls, player safety remains our top priority. Wearing a helmet is a simple and effective way to help protect your child during these situations, and we expect all players to follow this guideline. If your child does not have their own helmet, sharing helmets is completely acceptable. Our league also has extra helmets available to borrow for games if needed. Please let your coach know, and they will coordinate with us to ensure your child has access to one. Thank you for helping us keep all players safe while they learn and enjoy the game.
Once again we want to thank you for playing with us this Spring as we look forward to a fun, competitive season ahead!
Thank you!
