The West Virginia Blazers website is back up and operational. The team is still in a current state of flux due to the lack of funds available at the local level. We are still working to find sponsors and have continued the partnership with the Drug Free All Stars to reach out to local schools and community groups with our positive community based message. Stay tuned for updates.

Rebuilding is never easy. But without adequate resources it is impossible to accomplish the dreams and vision for change. That said, it is with regret that the West Virginia Blazers will be taking a season off from the American Basketball Association to regroup, rebuild, and relocate the community based franchise for the 2013-2014 season. The funding cutbacks with our local mentoring programs as well as decreased availability for discressionary monies with our sponsors has led to this decision. But rest assured, we will look to come back stronger next season and build on the success of the past. Thank you for your continued support of the Blazers! Many of the team can still be seen playing with the Drug Free All Stars so stay tuned!!!

The Blazers / Drug Free All Stars and a host of volunteers from Community Connections, the WV to***co quitline, and our friends from Wyoming County had a great time this past weekend at the West Virginia State Fair. We are back in the swing and ready to Celebrate with Wyoming County at the Chris Herren Basketball event this Thursday at Wyoming East High School at 6:00.
