A huge shoutout and congratulations to Alpha Academy 12U Edwards for an outstanding performance yesterday at the Bomb Squad Tournament in Cedar Bluff, Virginia!

This team had the honor of being the first of our SWWV Alpha Academy teams to take the field and make their tournament debut. For more than half of the roster, yesterday also marked their very first travel ball tournament experience.

This team is made up of nearly 50% current 10U eligible athletes. Early this spring, these girls made the commitment to step away from a traditional 10U season and focus completely on preparing themselves for the jump to 12U and yesterday, that hard work was rewarded!

After opening the day a little shaky with some understandable first game jitters, this group settled in, regrouped, and battled through pool play with one loss and two ties. Once bracket play began, they found another gear, knocked off the tournament’s No. 1 seed, and fought their way into the championship game before coming up just short and finishing as tournament runners up!

What an incredible accomplishment for a young team that is only beginning its journey together. This group has the opportunity to grow, develop, and compete alongside one another for many years to come and we could not be more excited to see what their future holds.

Keep your eyes on this team. They are just getting started!

To round out our roster, we’re excited to introduce #6 Jenna Farmer to Alpha Academy 14U Rivera!

Jenna joined us during our summer preparation for the move to 14U and immediately made her presence known. With a full season of 14U experience already behind her, she brings valuable game knowledge, leadership, maturity, and power to a roster filled with younger athletes.

Defensively, Jenna is sure-handed and confident at third base. She is never afraid of a hard hit ball coming her way, but she is also willing to expand her game and contribute wherever the team needs her. At the plate, Jenna brings plenty of strength and swings a heavy bat something this lineup is excited to have.

Jenna proudly represents PikeView. Last year, she represented her middle school as both a cheerleader and softball player, and we know she will carry that same pride, dedication, and competitive spirit into her high school years.

Jenna brings experience, strength, and a steady presence to this team, and we believe she will play an important role in what we are building. We are proud to have her on the roster and even prouder to officially welcome her into the Alpha family.

Now welcoming Emma Cook #14 to Alpha Academy 14U Rivera!

Emma was one of the final additions to our Alpha roster. She was looking for a place to call home, and we are proud that she found it with us.

Coming out of Raleigh County, Emma played her middle school innings at Independence Middle School and brings command to the circle with some serious spin to go with it. She has already shown that she can stay composed, trust her pitches, and compete when the pressure is on.

Emma may be a little quiet at first, but her true personality is already beginning to show. She is funny, witty, and fits right in with this group. When her number is called, she is ready to compete, go to work, and do whatever is needed for her teammates.

We are excited to watch Emma continue to grow, build confidence, and make her impact on this roster.

Let’s welcome Harper Smith to Alpha Academy 14U Rivera!

Harper regularly makes nearly a two hour drive to attend practice, and from the moment she stepped onto the field for her tryout, we knew she brought something special. We typically have a full process for our tryouts, but after meeting Harper and watching her play, it became clear very quickly that we needed her style, energy, and competitive spirit on this Alpha team. The offer was extended before the Lynn’s ice cream was even served, and it has been all uphill from there!

Harper brings a fun attitude, a witty personality, and plenty of energy to the roster. But she is much more than sass and personality. She plays with steady determination, is never afraid to get dirty, and moves with urgency to make the play. You can see the gears turning as she reads the field and seems to know exactly where the ball needs to go.

Harper is a much needed and highly valued addition to this roster, and we are excited to watch everything she brings to the team.

Now welcoming Payton Mitchell to Alpha Academy 14U Rivera!

Payton is a much needed addition to the Alpha squad, bringing a work ethic that matches that of next level athletes. As one of the older players on the team, she also brings experience and a steady presence to help balance out her rowdy teammates.

Defensively, Payton shows sure hands whenever the ball is hit her way and has a deadly accurate arm when she lets it fly. She has also been dedicating her free time to improving her batting skills, and we truly believe she is going to make a huge difference for this team.

We are excited to have her and cannot wait to watch her continue to grow.

🎉 Please help us welcome Maddi Lewis #88 to the Alpha Academy roster! 🥎

Maddi may be one of the newest players to the game, but she has quickly shown that experience is no match for determination. After deciding last year that she was going to work tirelessly to catch up, she has done exactly that.

Brand new to softball, Maddi has already developed into a solid first baseman. She is sure handed, dependable, and uses her tall frame to her advantage making her a magnet for securing those close outs at first.

What stands out most about Maddi is her energy and work ethic. She refuses to let anything slow her down and has naturally stepped into a leadership role by bringing positivity to every practice. She is often the first teammate to lift someone up when they are down, and just as quickly, she will push the pace and raise the energy when the team needs it.

Maddi works with the kind of grit and determination you cannot teach. She keeps showing up, keeps learning, and simply does not stop working.

Congratulations to Bella Frampton, our second official recipient of the Alpha Workout Warrior Chain!

Bella put in well over 1,000 reps at home this week, showing a real commitment to the process, her teammates, and her own growth. That kind of effort proves she is all in and determined to keep putting her best foot forward.
