The Lady Mambas had their first tournament of the season today in Fairbury. Even though the results weren’t in our favor on the scoreboard, they improved in each one of their games. They are high energy, and as soon as that focus shifts into productive energy, they are going to fly. Thank you to those who came to watch us today.

As this season comes to a close, I want to take a moment to reflect on the journey these young men have been through together. From the first practices to the final game, each one of them poured their heart into this team, and Coach Staples and myself couldn’t be prouder of what we accomplished.

This season wasn’t just about wins and losses; it was about growth, resilience, and showing up for each other every single time we stepped on the court. The way you’ve supported one another, pushed each other to be better, and never gave up when things got tough has been nothing short of inspiring.

We faced challenges, but we came out on top — not just because of the scoreboard, but because we’ve built something stronger than just a team. We created bonds, memories, and a sense of pride that will last a lifetime. The effort, heart, and commitment you have shown to this game, to each other, and to yourselves is what truly defines success.

As we wrap up this season, know that you’ve all grown — not just as athletes, but as individuals. You’ve learned the true meaning of teamwork, dedication, and what it means to give everything you’ve got. And even though the season is over, I know these lessons will stay with you for years to come.

Thank you for trusting Coach Staples and myself, for giving it your all, and for making this season one I’ll never forget. You’ve made us proud, and you should be proud of each other.

This is just the beginning — keep working, keep believing, and keep pushing. The best is yet to come.

4th place finish for the Mini Mambas today! They played their best game of the season their first game today! Basketball skills are coming together, but check the video in the comments if you want to see the dance skills they have mastered!

The Mambas finished the Linn Tournament with a 2-1 record and finished with silver for the day, losing out on gold by a point differential of 3 points. They finished the day losing by 1 point to a solid Clay Center team after being down 16 with 4 minutes left in the game. These boys continue to grasp what it is to be a team, what working together will accomplish. They play with heart and we couldn’t be more proud of them.
