The Long Ways Hikers

Not too long ago we did a Trail Tech episode on using the birding app Merlin on our hikes.

Here are a few of the new birds we captured on the King Ludwigs Way. There were lots more (and lots of ducks), but after several hikes in the Alps region I think we’ve got good coverage! So only a few “lifers” this time!

The start of the King Ludwig Way was amazing! A 14 mile segment that took us out of Sternberg and into some beautiful forest trails. After walking througy several small Bavarian towns (loved Aschering!) we approached the Andechs Monastery for one of their award winning brews (it was amazing). The day wound down with a short ferry ride to Deizen !

The trail is in great condition and the weather is perfect ! Today we have a short walk of 11 miles!

Missing our walking buddy Devin Windelspecht on this one! He will be back with us soon!

Today was pure logisitics as we moved from Munich to Starnberg before the start of the The Kig Ludwig Way tomorrow!

A short train ride to the beautiful town of Starnberg on the Starnberger See, followed by a short hike along the shores. Could spend days here, but we head out in the morning on the first leg of the adventure!

Spent a day in Munich before heading south tomorrow to Starnberg to start our next Long Ways hike along the King Ludwig Way in Bavaria.

Its again! This time we take you to Slovenia and the start of our Julian Way adventure in 2023.

Before heading out from Bled we hiked up to the breathtaking Vintgar Gorge area for a day of amazing views and incredible waterfalls. A definite day trip before or after the trail!

For this we take you back to one of the most amazing long ways hikes - along the Rota Vicentina in Portugal. 7 days of ocean views, small towns, amazing food and fantastic hosts made this one of our favorites to date.
