I am seeking election to one of the 4 year terms that are currently open on the Blackduck School board. I am a lifelong resident of this great District, and also a Graduate of the Class of 1985. Both of my kids attended Blackduck Schools from Kindergarten through Graduation. I feel that serving on a School board is one of the most important responsibilities a citizen can undertake and I look forwa
rd to tackling that responsibilty to the best of my ability. The decisions that a board can make will affect a generation of students, our community and society. Yes, serving on a public school board is a challenging job, with sometimes difficult decisions, however it is rewarding to watch students succeed and lead productive lives as a result of the educational
opportunities that a board creates for them. As a board member I will base my decisions on what is best for ALL students and ALL citizens. School boards are most effective when ALL the members focus on the "big picture" of making policy, setting goals and engaging the public, all with the ultimate goal of improving student achievment. When school boards focus on administrative issues and micro managing, this is when school districts suffer. Divided boards lead to a divided community and the only ones that suffer are the kids. Some qualities that I will bring to the board table are integrity, commitment, vision, courage and respect. I am a firm believer in the Democratic process,
committed to goverance training, able to funtion as part of a team, stong communicator, able to make tough decisions and most importantly motivated by the best interests of ALL students. Therefore I ask you for your vote this November and let's put the "School" back in the School Board. Robert "Bob" Klug Jr
