FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The Bisbee High School Football Program Condemns Vandalism at Douglas High School
Bisbee, Arizona — [Sept 3, 2026] — The Bisbee High School Football Program is aware of the recent damage to the Douglas High School football field, track, and other school property. We want to make our position unequivocally clear: we do not condone, support, encourage, or excuse vandalism or damage to Douglas High School or any school property.
The rivalry between Bisbee and Douglas has a long and proud tradition. Rivalries are built on competition, passion, pride, and the desire to represent one's community on the field. They should never cross the line into the destruction of facilities or property.
This behavior is not what Bisbee High School football stands for.
Our program expects our players, coaches, students, families, and supporters to represent Bisbee with character, respect, accountability, and sportsmanship—whether we are competing against Douglas or any other opponent. The football field is where rivalries belong. It is not a place for vandalism, retaliation, or destruction.
We recognize the time, effort, and resources that go into maintaining athletic facilities and school grounds. Damage to a field, track, or school property impacts students, athletes, coaches, staff, and the broader Douglas community. We respect the people who work hard to provide these opportunities for students on both sides of the rivalry.
The Bisbee High School Football Program will continue to embrace the tradition and competitive spirit of the Bisbee-Douglas rivalry, but we will do so in a manner that reflects the values we expect from our student-athletes.
Compete hard. Play with pride. Respect your opponent. Protect the game.
That is what Bisbee High School football stands for.
Respectfully,
Bisbee Football Coaches
