More about The Butter Lab, from Brie:
How The Butter Lab Started

The Butter Lab grew out of my journey with Marley Avenue, my plant-based body-care brand. I had been making body butter for five years, but I realized there was something special about the process itself—not just the finished product.

There’s something really beautiful about gathering around a table, choosing your fragrance, mixing your ingredients, getting a little messy, and creating something with your own hands.

I wanted to turn that feeling into an experience.

So, in August 2025, I called one of my best friends, Sunasia Mims, who is also my Co-Creative Director. I told her what I was envisioning, and we got to work building what would eventually become The Butter Lab.

We hosted our first session in September 2025, so this month we’re celebrating one year of The Butter Lab! Happy one year to us. 🧈✨

One of my favorite things about The Butter Lab is watching it become part of Birmingham’s creative community.

Birmingham has so many talented, innovative people creating really beautiful things, and I want The Butter Lab to contribute to that energy. I’m passionate about creating experiences that make people feel connected to things that help them feel beautiful and, most importantly, to each other. That’s really the heart of it.

The Butter Lab is body care, but it’s also a girls’ night. A date night. A birthday experience. A team-building activity. A creative outlet. A reason to gather.

It’s a little bit of everything and I think that’s what makes it so special.

The Body Care Experience You Can Feel. 🧈✨
