Billerica Clean Up Green Up Day We are seeking volunteers to aid in the beautification of our parks, school fields and roadsides. Thank you and see you April 22!

For over a decade, this spring time event has provided an opportunity for the residents and companies in Billerica to help the Town recover from the harsh effects of winter and prepare for a colorful spring and summer. Dear Billerica Families,
As the spring is upon us, we are pleased to announce the Clean Up Green Up Day will be taking place this year but it will be a little different. The Beautif

y Billerica Group in conjunction with the Town of Billerica, the Billerica Recreation Department and the DPW, will be hosting the event this year on Saturday April 22, 2023 from 10:00am-12:00pm. Each year individuals, families and groups register to clear debris and trash from designated areas and plant flowers at Town buildings, parks, playgrounds, commons and public islands. Clean up projects could include picking up the litter in parks and playgrounds or along the roadside, in front of houses, or by your company’s grounds. This weekend, an extraordinary initiative took place! Students from Shawsheen Valley Regional Vocational Technical School District spent 8 hours engaging in a group project to enhance our community's appearance. Their collaborative efforts yielded almost 40 bags of trash. Kudos to Olivia, the organizer, and gratitude to Ms. O'Brien, who facilitated planning for a continuation of the 2026 Billerica Clean Up Green Up Week. Happy ! Every action we take makes a difference. Today, let's all walk around our neighborhood and pick up some trash!

Happy World Environment Day! Make this every day, because we only have one Earth. Choices we make can help to keep pollution out of our waterways:
1. Use fertilizer and pesticides sparingly
2. Choose no-phosphorus fertilizer
3. Dispose yard debris properly
4. Use native or drought-tolerant plants
5. Plant a rain garden
6. Use mulch to help retain moisture in your garden and prevent erosion
7. Pick up after your pets
