Sophia started training with Young Forest Karate in 2020 at 8 years old. Four years later in 2024 Sophia earned her Jr. Shodan at 12. 2 years later Sophia is now 14 and has finally earned her Shodan. Happy Birthday Sophia and congratulations. We look forward to the future Sensei Sophia!

Beginning Karate-4:30-5:30 PM (9th & 8th kyu)
Intermediate Karate-5:30-6:30 PM (7th-4th kyu)
Advanced Karate 6:30-7:30 PM (3rd kyu- dan rank)

このたび、沖縄県文化財保護審議会より県教育委員会へ、県指定無形文化財「沖縄の空手・古武術」保持者の追加認定について答申されました。保持者候補者は下記の16名です。今後、沖縄県公報への登載をもって正式な認定となり、保持者は合計23名となります。

On this occasion, the Okinawa Prefectural Cultural Properties Protection Council submitted a recommendation to the Prefectural Board of Education regarding the additional designation of holders of the Prefecture-designated Intangible Cultural Property “Okinawan Karate and Kobudo” The candidates for designation are the following 16 individuals.The official designation will be finalized upon publication in the Okinawa Prefectural Bulletin, bringing the total number of holders to 23.

I grew up in the 80s reading Black Belt magazine seeing Chuck Norris ads constantly and watching all of his movies. My absolute favorite Chuck Norris movie was 1985s Code of Silence directed by Andrew Davis. Same director used for Steven Seagals first movie, Above the Law, and Harrison Ford's The Fugitive. Great movie. I highly recommend it. Thank you for all of the great memories Mr Norris. Rest in Peace sir.
