1 whole year. So many pictures and much more people to thank. This journey has been crazy, I always thought I could do this but being in the midst of everything, who really thought we could? What started out as people telling me I should do this or do that it led me to eventually decide to do THIS. My initial goal, make it past the first month and into the winter- I remember thinking if we made it through the winter I would be satisfied. We made it through the winter but boy was I wrong, this is rewarding yet very demanding. I wouldn’t be here without the likes of Robby Brackett Allen Berube or gregory ishihara and Ciara Arnold further more I wouldn’t be here without the community we have here at Hooligan FC so many people have come an gone (thankfully) but the ones that have stayed with us, grown with us and have trusted the process have been the culture setter. Over here we demand hard working, motivated individuals. No egos, no excuses and definitely no bu****it is being fed. We reward the ones who set themselves apart through work and publicly shame the weak. Our youth wrestling has been the staple behind our success, it continues to grow beyond measure as we make our mark across New England ensuring EVERYONE remembers this club. I want to thank the coaching staff (Wrestling Coach) Evrit Roy our mma and jiu jitsu coach Paul also cant forget the impact Justin Tarbox-Toussaint and Jerome Herrick have had with our youth.

What a day yesterday in Bow NH, the plan was short and sweet. Head down to bow and coach Aaliyah and Alden, instead, I decided to call up RyRy telling him “come to my house, we’re going to bow and I don’t want to drive by myself. Oh and bring your shoes.” His response “ are we warming up the kids?” “Sure” I replied. As Ryan climbs in my car, I lock the doors and start driving. As soon as I hit the main road I unload this on him “oh I didn’t tell you but you’re wrestling today lol” Ryan has never wrestled, EVER. Not only did Ryan not have a choice but he went there and executed. We set small specific goals which obviously led to bigger ones and boy did he have his coming out party (lol) he eventually took 2nd place, amassed a record of 2-1 2 pins beating the 1st place holder via pin (doesn’t make sense) and the one person he lost to was because Ryan locked hands (rookie move) in the last seconds giving the opp a 1 point lead and victory. Each of these 3 impressed me with different moments whether it be specific situational improvements, characteristics or performance. Over here it’s anywhere, anytime. We don’t give a f**k.

Athlete appreciation; Liz,
Liz came to us with nothing.

No training, no expectations, no goals and no urge to even begin the thought of getting aggressive with someone. She came to us and just wanted to try out a class- quickly we found out we had to really push her out of her comfort zone.

Fast forward 3 months, Liz registered for her first competition under this wonderful promotion versuscombatseries and boy did she go up against some STIFF competition, her first match was against what would be the champ of her weight class. Her 2nd match didn’t get any easier and where most people would mentally fold- Liz remained unfazed. She’s cold blooded, on competition day she said “I feel nothing”. Nerves of steel. We CAN NOT wait to watch her continued development, it’s been a true honor. If you’re there for Liz first days in the gym you know how far she’s come. Jake LaTour
