(SHLC) maintains an instructional and competitive youth lacrosse program open to both boys and girls from kindergarten through 8th grade, from the towns of Bedminster, Far Hills, Bernardsville, and Peapack-Gladstone. SHLC is a member of the North Jersey Junior Lacrosse League (NJJLL) for the boys division and the Jersey Girls Lacrosse Association (JGLA) for the girls division. SHLC follows the gui
delines of US Lacrosse, the national governing body for lacrosse. All of our levels retain a focus fundamentals and instruction to develop the basic skills of lacrosse. Our K-2 programs set a foundation to introduce basic skills development working up to game play tailored to the development of each grade. Our 3rd through 8th grade programs are developed and train to participate in competitive spring games and tournaments scheduled against other programs in the NJJLL and JGLA leagues. As a club we look to develop our young athletes love for the game of lacrosse, and also their skills and strengths to help them excel at the game and look to play for the Bernards High School Mountaineers, or other program of their choice. SHLC teams participate as a club in the spring season only. Registration begins on line using our website in November of each year and closes at the beginning of March. Practices begin in March, games begin in early April and the season concludes in early June. All of our teams are formed by grade level. SHLC youth also have opportunities outside the spring season to play and train together and with youth from other programs. These opportunities are offered by private, for-profit organizations that are not affiliated with SHLC. As a club, SHLC does promote training with some of these organizations to keep our youth playing together in the off season. SHLC uses our website to notify our participating families of these training programs as well as outside travel opportunities and camps as much as possible.
