Wrapped up the 25/26 season on a high note. Big number of birds harvested on public land. Floated spreads of traditional canvas over wire decoys and we consistently harvested birds. These last 3 geese were sweet talked using a hedge goose flute. I hope everyone had a great season. Books will be opened soon!

Got my “one bufflehead a year” in progress. I make one in memory of my grandmother who passed away on the final day of duck season a few years back. We are moved into our new house and are slowly getting the shop laid out and ready for production. There’s no better time to get on the books for next year

5 years! I’ve been turning calls for 5 years next month. I tell people that if you’re not learning something new each time you turn on a lathe you’re not trying hard enough. That first year I turned a bunch of red cedar. I sold my wood duck whistles for $15 a piece… so for the month of December I’m going to do a small batch of red cedar wood ducks for that original price. Pick up local or shipping can be worked out.
