🎡 Old Settlers Days kicks off Thursday night, and the weather is looking just about perfect for live music.

If you’re heading to Rockton for opening night or any of the weekend concerts, expect comfortable evenings with temperatures settling into the upper 60s to low 70s around showtime. Thursday and Friday, in particular, could feel like classic hoodie weather once the sun goes down.

🌩️ It’s hard to believe this breathtaking scene unfolded just as Doppler radar indicated rotation approaching the City of Beloit.

Fortunately, the storm continued through the area without producing a confirmed tornado in Beloit, leaving behind one of the most dramatic skies we’ve seen this season. Tonight, calmer conditions have returned, and Thursday is expected to bring a refreshing break with cooler temperatures, a mix of sun and clouds, and only a slight chance of an isolated shower.

The strongest storms have now pushed east of Beloit, and the immediate severe weather threat has diminished across the Stateline.

A few lingering showers, lightning strikes, and brief gusty winds remain possible this evening, but the most dangerous conditions are now behind us. Continue to monitor the weather until all watches and warnings expire.

🚨TAKE SHELTER BELOIT🌪️ TORNADO WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR BELOIT AND SOUTHEASTERN ROCK COUNTY UNTIL 8:30 PM

The National Weather Service reports a storm capable of producing a tornado was located near Footville, just west of Janesville, at 8:00 PM and moving east at 30 mph.

Beloit is in the path of this storm.

⚠️ Radar indicates rotation, and officials warn that:

* 🌪️ A tornado is possible.
* 💨 Flying debris may be dangerous.
* 🌳 Tree damage is likely.
* 🏠 Damage to roofs, windows, vehicles, and mobile homes is possible.

TAKE COVER NOW. Move to a basement or a small interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building. Stay away from windows and remain sheltered until the warning expires or officials say it is safe.

The National Weather Service indicates a dangerous line of storms is racing east through southern Rock County. The environment remains favorable for damaging winds and embedded tornadoes, and residents in Beloit should remain in shelter until the warning expires.

🚨🌪️ TORNADO WARNING FOR SOUTHERN ROCK COUNTY INCLUDING BELOIT

TAKE SHELTER NOW. The National Weather Service has issued a Tornado Warning until 8:30 PM for southern Rock County, including Beloit.

Move immediately to a basement or the lowest level of a sturdy building. If a basement is not available, shelter in a small interior room away from windows. Mobile homes and vehicles are not safe.

Do not wait to see the tornado or severe weather before taking action. Conditions can change rapidly.

The National Weather Service has issued a Tornado Warning for parts of southern Wisconsin as a dangerous storm capable of producing a tornado moves through the area.

If you are in the warned area:
🌪️ Move to a basement or the lowest level of a sturdy building immediately.
🏠 Stay in a small interior room away from windows.
🚗 Do not remain in a vehicle or mobile home.

This is a life-threatening situation. Do not wait to see the storm before taking protective action.

⚠️ Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued for parts of the Stateline region.

Strong storms capable of producing wind gusts up to 60 mph are moving east and could bring down trees and cause scattered damage. Communities including Janesville, Edgerton, Evansville, and areas north and west of Beloit should stay weather aware.

If you’re in the warned area, move indoors and avoid unnecessary travel until the storms pass. A Tornado Watch also remains in effect for portions of south-central Wisconsin.

🌧️ 10:15 AM Weather Update | Great Lakes Weather Authority

Rain continues across Beloit and the Stateline this morning, with periods of moderate to heavy rainfall moving through the area. Gusty winds remain a concern, and a Special Weather Statement is in effect as some locations could experience wind gusts approaching 50 mph.

The atmosphere will stay active through the afternoon. Additional showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop, with a few storms capable of producing heavy downpours, small hail, and damaging wind gusts.

If you’re traveling today, allow extra time, watch for ponding on roads, and be prepared for rapidly changing conditions.
