A little extra reach when you need it. A low-profile design when you don’t.

Our stainless steel Folding Step gives you a secure foothold for reaching your roof rack, whether you’re loading kayaks, securing gear, or getting equipment situated before heading out.

The step can be installed on the lower frame at any of the camper’s four corners, positioned 4” above the truck bed rail unless otherwise specified. When you’re done, fold it back up against the camper to keep things tucked out of the way.

One small addition that makes loading up a little easier.

Ann’s 2019 Toyota Tacoma (6’ bed) features our custom-fit magnetic thermal blackout window covers, watch how fast and easy they are to put up and take down.

Made by Vanmade for Hiatus Campers, the quilted covers do more than block out light. Their multilayer construction helps reflect heat, block UV rays, and regulate cabin temperatures while adding privacy. Rare-earth magnets and VHB-backed steel tabs make them quick to put up or take down, with no drilling or permanent modifications.

The covers are built with durable, water-repellent, UV-resistant fabrics and backed by Vanmade’s lifetime warranty against failures under normal use. Meanwhile, the Arctic Tern shades roll neatly into their protective housings when you want an unobstructed view.

A few seconds to adjust the light. A more comfortable camper for the long haul.

Do you see your truck in the lineup?

We build for nearly every standard pickup truck model and bed length. Each one is manufactured by hand in our Bellingham Washington shop, with American sourced materials. This enables us to customize a lot more, which makes every camper unique.

Our rigid composite panels used for the folding walls are fiberglass and plastic, with a hinge strength at 100 lbs per inch.

The frame is welded aluminum tubing wrapped in aluminum skin, so it’s sturdy and not taking on moisture or warping over time.

The camper walls, frame, and roof are fully insulated with 1” - 1.5” closed-cell foam with an R6 value. Built to keep you warmer in winter, and cooler in summer.

The materials we use are waterproof. The seals and gaskets we use at all points of contact are waterproof. It’s fully hard-sided with no canvas anywhere in the structure. Engineered and tested in the rainy PNW.

Setup takes less than two minutes and they weigh between 425-525 lbs depending on your truck bed length. With a perfect fit to your truck, they fold down compact, allowing you to travel rugged and narrow roads to reach far out destinations.

What it’s made from, how the pieces move together, how it’s assembled, how it holds up in garbage weather, and how long it lasts is what makes it a Hiatus.

A little more room to work with. 👌

Don’s 2024 Toyota Tundra (5.5’ bed) got a Front Runner Drop Down Table mounted inside the barn door, giving him extra workspace when he needs it and keeping things tucked away when he doesn’t.

The sliding wood panel expands the usable tabletop area, and the whole setup stows away when it’s time to hit the road.

Small addition, big difference in how you use your space.

Whether you’re traveling from across town or across the country, we’re excited to welcome you to the Hiatus family.

Here are some notes around installation at our shop in Bellingham, WA.

• We partner with a local hotel for a special discounted rate and complimentary shuttle service
• We love to share our curated guide for local activities, trails, and campgrounds (including GPS coordinates for favorite dispersed camp sites you won’t find online)
• You have a private lobby available throughout installation where you can store belongings, get some work done, and watch install happen.
• Hiatus is a dog friendly shop so feel free to bring your pet!
• Install usually takes 5-6 hours. During this time you can hang in your private lobby, head into town, or hit the local trails and beaches.
• Once installation is complete we provide a full walk through
• Each camper is backed by a 2 year repair or replace warranty. We manufacture in-house, so you’ll always deal with real team members without having to wait for parts shipped from overseas.

Truck, you look good, won’t you back that thang up?

We now have truck-specific backup camera mounts available!

When upgrading from the tailgate door to the single, double, or asymmetrical back doors, one trade-off was forgoing the integrated backup camera. So we created a solution.

Hiatus now makes tilt adjustable camera mounts to be installed on top of the license plate or below the back door frame.

You can include this in your build for install day, or if you already have your Hiatus camper, you can purchase through our Gear Shop on our website.

These are custom made to order in our shop. If you don’t see your truck model listed yet, reach out. We just need a few measurements to make sure it’s a proper fit for you.
