The Ridgeline can carry a camper. The trick is how you attach it.

We don’t just bolt a standard camper to the bed rails and hope for the best.

The Ridgeline’s composite bed and unique rail design don’t have the traditional structure needed for standard J- or C-clamp mounting. So we developed our own solution.

Our in-house fabricated track system lines up with the factory tie-down points already built into the bed, giving us a secure attachment point without drilling new holes into your truck.

And we didn’t have to turn it into a heavy slide-in camper to solve the problem.

The whole point of Hiatus is keeping your truck useful.

A slide-in takes up valuable space around the wheel wells, adds weight, and limits the utility of your bed. Hiatus sits above the bed rails, preserving that space while weighing just 425–525 lbs, depending on truck and features.

That matters on a Ridgeline, where payload varies by trim:

→ Sport: 1,583 lbs
→ RTL: 1,544 lbs
→ TrailSport: 1,521 lbs
→ Black Edition: 1,509 lbs

So yes, you can have a fully hard-sided, insulated pop-up camper on a Ridgeline and still have room to build out the truck around it.

So where do you put all your camping gear? Where do you sit? How do you cook? What about dishes? Where does the bathroom go?

The answer is: wherever you want 🤗

The interior of a Hiatus is intentionally a blank canvas. Some people build it out for extended camping. Some keep it mostly open because they need their truck for work. And some do something in between.

This is one example from Roman’s truck: an awning outside for shade and wind protection, a shower/bathroom setup underneath, and a simple interior with storage, seating, a movable table, a sink and kitchen setup.

When “can we add that to our camper build?” keeps getting answered with 👍🏼

Built for a 2026 Ford F350 Crew Cab with a 6.75’ bed, this camper was configured around the interior layout and how the truck will be used for camping.

A few of the custom choices:

→ Full Arctic Tern window package — 21.75” x 43” windows in the front and rear folding walls, plus 21.75” x 27.5” windows in both side walls
→ 12” x 27” Arctic Tern window in the passenger-side access door
→ Cab passthrough slider window positioned in the lower forward wall
→ 80” extended sleeping platform with Deluxe high-density memory foam cushions
→ Two side access doors, one on each side of the camper
→ MaxxAir fan moved to the rear
→ Full-length roof tracks + L-track inside and out
→ 270° awning-ready mounts on the passenger side
→ Vertical lower walls for a larger pop-top

And then there are the things that come standard, like the integrated third brake light and exterior lift-assist struts.

The Arctic Terns are a good example of what makes a custom build different. It’s not just “Arctic Tern windows: yes or no.” You can choose the window type, size, orientation, and placement based on the rest of your build.

The fun part is no two builds are ever the same.

Living in a small home with windows that look out on a very large world.

One of the benefits of a custom-built Hiatus is choosing the windows, sizes, and placement that make sense for how you plan to use and build out your camper.

We offer both slider windows and Arctic Tern awning-style windows, with various sizes and horizontal or vertical configurations.

Slider windows are standard and include bug screens. They don’t include thermal blackout shades, but we sell magnetic thermal blackout shades in our Gear Shop so you can put them up or take them down in seconds.

Arctic Terns are an upgrade and come with:
→ Double-pane acrylic for better insulation
→ Pop-out awning design that helps keep rain out when the window is open
→ Bug screens and thermal blackout shades, with the exact style depending on placement

We also build:

→ Cab-side fixed windows for visibility through your camper from the rear cab window
→ Cab-side slider/pass-through windows for a small opening between the cab and camper
→ Rear tailgate and barn/custom door windows for additional light and rear visibility

And there are a lot of sizes to work with. The right combination depends on your truck, the framing, and how you want to use the space.

That’s why we don’t expect you to figure all of this out from a website dropdown.

After you put down a deposit, we send you our full feature brochure and work through your camper design with you over the following weeks. You can also request the brochure before ordering.

Submitting a deposit does not lock you into your initial configuration.

We’d rather build the window layout around how you camp than make you adapt to ours. That way, wherever you are, instead of looking out the window wishing you were somewhere else, you’ll know you’re exactly where you’re meant to be.
