Congratulations to our young men and women who took part in their respective state tournaments this weekend. We are so proud of all of them and their effort that they have given all season! Here are the results from the AAU Girls Tournament and the Super P*e Wee State Tournament:

Girls State:

Corah White: 3rd-4th grade, 53 lbs-3rd place

Laila Richardson-7th-8th grade

Avery Curphey-9th-12th grade

Super P*e Wee State:

Ryder Richardson, Kindergarten, 40 lbs

What a weekend! We sent 13 wrestlers to the AAU State Tournament in Des Moines this weekend. Our boys put forth outstanding effort and we couldn't be prouder of them all! 3 of our wrestlers walked away with some hardeware with several others coming very close to making the podium. Every single person gave it their all and left everything on the mat! Congratulations to all of these indivials on an outstanding weekend!

For those that wish to do so on Friday, we will be meeting at the school, outside of the wrestling room, around 12:45 pm and will head to Des Moines for the State Tournament at 1:00 pm.

We plan on checking into our hotel and then take the kids to weigh-ins at Hall A of EMC Expo Center at the Iowa Events Center. Weigh-ins are from 5-7 pm and we will notify everyone when we intend to leave for this.

So, if you wish to travel to Des Moines in our 'Bulldog Convoy', meet at the back of the school at 12:45 pm on Friday.

We will be practicing after school this week and next for AAU state qualifiers and anyone wrestling in the girls state tournament or Super P*e Wee State. We will plan on practicing at least Monday Tuesday and Thursday this week. Practice will be over between 5 and 5:30 pm.

If you want to reserve a hotel room, where the team will staying, the Holiday Inn on the 27th and 28th for the AAU State Tournament, you will have until 6 pm on Wednesday, 2/18, to call and reserve them under our block of rooms before the block will be pulled.

AAU STATE HOTEL INFORMATION:

We have several rooms blocked off at Holiday Inn Fleur Drive in Des Moines. $135 per night. It is under Bedford Youth Wrestling and the dates are Feb 27th and 28th. You can call on Monday and put your reservation on your card if you plan on reserving a room for those days. 515-287-2400.
