He'll study Electrical Engineering and playing golf for the Golden Bears for the next four years.

He'll join Issac Walters next year at Tech and be studying Mechanical Engineering.

Congratulations to Rob on graduating from Tech yesterday!! He has been a great asset as a golfer and also a student assistant this past Fall.

He's currently working at Core Natural Resources and got married to his college sweetheart; Morgan, this past semester.

Not the outcome that we had hoped for but each of the guys done their best and left it all out on the course! 🐻 ⛳

Tech finished in 5th place overall and had their best team score round today with a 307.

Sean Cooper led the way for the Golden Bears with an even par round and finished 3rd overall after 54-holes.

The rest of the Golden Bears finished as below in the 3rd round:
Parker Vannoy - 74
Alvaro Iglesias - 77
Alejandro Gutierrez - 84
Gavin Gregory - 85

Sean was named the teams Champion of Character award winner. He shows the NAIA values that build character, so students, coaches and parents know, do, and value the right thing on and off the course and shows the five core values – integrity, respect,responsibility, sportsmanship, and servant leadership.

Sean also made the First Team All Conference and finished 3rd overall to finish +9.

Alvaro Iglesias was named Third Team All Conference and finished in 14th place at +19.

We're so proud of these young man and excited for the next season already! 🐻⛳

A top-three finish at the conference championship ⛳️

Sean Cooper led WVU Tech at the River States Conference Championship, finishing third overall with a three-round total of 225 (+9) at The Resort at Glade Springs.

Cooper opened with a 73, battled through round two and closed with an even-par 72 in the final round to secure one of the top finishes in the field.

Way to go, Sean!

WVU Tech golf closed its 2025-26 season Tuesday with a fifth-place finish at the River States Conference Championship at The Resort at Glade Springs.

After the 2nd round at the Spring Championship the Golden Bears are currently in 5th place.

Tech was led by Alvaro Iglesias 🇪🇦 with a score of 79 (+7).

The rest of the Golden Bears finished as followed:

We'll tee off at 9 am and be paired with Oakland City University and Indiana University Kokomo.
