Viz was astounding on Sunday! 80-100 ft on the bow of the Ae**us with some purple reef fish enjoying the viz! The belted sandfish mogging the camera wants to know if you have reserved your space on the Out V? ;)😉You could almost see all of the Ae**us!!!

The USS Schurz is a World War I shipwreck resting about 28 miles offshore from Beaufort Inlet and Morehead City, North Carolina. It sits at a depth of roughly 110 feet. Built in 1894 as the German Imperial Navy gunship SMS Geier, the ship was seized by the United States in 1914 and later commissioned into the U.S. Navy as the USS Schurz. On June 21, 1918, while patrolling in dense fog, it was accidentally rammed by the merchant steamer SS Florida (sometimes recorded as the Floridia) and sank several hours later. It holds the unique distinction of being the only German Imperial Navy warship captured and used by the U.S. Navy during World War.

Beemer enjoying a cloudy sunset on the Outrageous V as an OUTRAGEOUSLY good day of diving.

We had Aventurers from Fluvanna SCUBA and Tri-City Scuba and we explored the WW 1 wreck (Shurz) and the Ae**us. We had 80’ plus visibility and a warm 77°. With lots of Sharks, African Pompano, Spades, Grouper and a lots of schooling fish.

What an Outrageous day!

A beautiful start to diving day!
