This exciting partnership between the Sokol Club and the Barberton Community Foundation is focused on making sure cost is never a barrier for local kids who want to play sports. While grants will begin next year, tonight is your chance to hear about the vision, ask questions, and learn how you can be part of something that will have a lasting impact on youth athletics in Barberton.
Youth sports teach far more than the game—they build confidence, character, teamwork, resilience, and lifelong friendships.
Whether you're a parent, coach, volunteer, community member, or simply someone who believes every child deserves the opportunity to play, we encourage you to come out and be part of the conversation.

Barberton’s kids just gained a new teammate.
The Sokol Club has launched the Sokol Youth Sports Fund with Barberton Community Foundation to help more Barberton kids get in the game and ensure cost never stands in the way of belonging, competition, and growth. The Club is building the fund this year, with grantmaking beginning next year to create the strongest possible foundation for long-term impact.
Why does this matter? Youth sports build more than athletes. They build discipline, accountability, teamwork, resilience, and confidence. Young people learn how to show up, take feedback, work through challenges, and discover they are capable of more than they imagined.
At Barberton Community Foundation, we view youth sports as part of the system that strengthens career pathways and prepares young people for life, work, and leadership.
For more than a century, Sokol Club has helped shape Barberton. Today, that legacy continues through a new investment in Barberton’s kids.
