Bangor Area Wrestling

Bangor Area Wrestling The Bangor Parks and Recreation Department Wrestling program was established in 2014. In November of 2017, Bangor Area Wrestling became incorporated.

The Mission of Bangor Area Wrestling is to provide resources for stakeholders (wrestlers, coaches, families, and school administrators) wishing to develop the wrestling skills of K-12 grade students that will attend high school in Bangor/Brewer/Hampden/Old Town/Orono/Hermon. The organization supports entities and activities that are in alliance with the vision of Bangor Area Wrestling. Emphasis is

placed on activities that support student growth as athletes and responsible citizens as well as coach development. Bangor Area Wrestling fosters a supportive community for all to enjoy the sport of wrestling.

Had our final meeting with the Cross Insurance Center today. We will be hosting our Mens and Women's High School Tournament again this year the 18th and 19th of December!

The 20th of December (Sunday) we will be hosting a K-8th tournament there as well. We will get all the info out in the next 2 weeks!

Bangor Area Wrestling Board Meeting

We will be holding a board meeting this Thursday at 7:00 PM at the Hampden Grange, with a Zoom option available for those who can’t attend in person.

Good job to a handful of BAW middle schoolers who participated at the KOTM in NH today! Tough competition but all proving they’re ready for the next level! CJ Washburn and Jaxyn McLaughlin both placing 4th in 12U. Jayvian Washburn and Aiden Pelletier both getting a high school education today in 15U and each wining a match. Both got knocked out by single point decisions! Keep it up men, your futures are bright!
