The margin for error is getting smaller, but the season isn't over.

After Friday night's 8-7 loss to the Black Sox, the Mets sit at 8-11-1 with four games remaining. While the defeat was a setback, the race around them continues to shift every week.

The updated wildcard picture:

🏆 6. Pasadena Tides — 9-7-2
🎟️ 7. GroundsHog — 11-9
⬆️ 8. DMV Big Dogs — 9-10-1
⬆️ 9. Baysox — 9-11
🔷 10. Mobtown Mets — 8-11-1

The road ahead won't be easy.

The Mets have spent their inaugural season proving they can compete. Wins over playoff teams, a 4-1-1 stretch before Friday, and a clubhouse that keeps showing up have kept this team in the conversation.

Now comes the challenge.

The (10) Mets fell behind early Sunday, but they never stopped pushing.

Mobtown collected 11 hits, stole six bases and continued to battle before ultimately falling to the (4) Annapolis Mariners, 9–6.

Bobby West, Antonio Ortiz, Luke Krenik and Cameron Williams each finished with two hits. Angel Abreu and Krenik drove in runs, while Abreu added two stolen bases and six strikeouts across seven innings on the mound.

The difference came down to missed opportunities and unearned damage. The Mets committed three errors and left nine runners on base—too much to overcome against one of the division’s top teams.

There were positives. There was fight. But at this point in the season, close is not enough.

The playoff race continues this week against the (5) Black Sox.

After a difficult start to the season, the Mets have fought their way back into wildcard contention and now sit just half a game behind the final playoff position with six games left to play.

The climb has been fueled by statement wins over current playoff teams, a red-hot stretch of baseball, and a clubhouse that never stopped believing.

Now comes the biggest stretch of the season.

Twelve games into the season, we were 3-9 and sitting near the bottom of the Fred Gore Division standings.

Many teams would've folded. This team didn't.

After a difficult start to our inaugural season, the Mets began showing signs of what this team could become.

The wins started coming. The offense started clicking.
And for the first time all season, the rest of the division had to start paying attention.

It's been a while since our last post, so let's get everyone caught up.

The Mobtown Mets entered 2026 as a brand-new franchise in the Chesapeake MSBL's Fred Gore Division. Through our first six games, the wins were hard to come by, but the foundation of this organization was being built one inning at a time.

First 6 Games

❌ Cubs (4-19)
❌ Big Dogs (5-28)
✅ Giants (15-14)
❌ GroundsHog (2-17)
❌ Hooks (4-17)
❌ Expos (7-13)

Record: 1-5

Despite the record, this stretch produced some unforgettable moments:

🏃 First franchise run — Daniel Hall
💣 First franchise home run — Matt Wolf
🏆 First franchise win — 15-14 over the Giants
🎯 First winning pitcher — Dylan Sturm

Looking back now, it's clear just how difficult that opening stretch was. Five of those first six opponents spent most of the season in the playoff picture, including the undefeated Hooks.

Every franchise has a beginning. Ours was built on resilience, learning, and proving we belonged.
