Pete Hegseth — self-proclaimed holy warrior, the guy who said this war is SACRED — got caught on camera passionately quoting... the Pulp Fiction screenplay. A Quentin Tarantino script. Not scripture. Not Ezekiel. Jules Winnfield. 🎬📖

And Trump? He's furious at the Pope. Because the Pope hurt his feelings.

Let's be crystal clear about what's happening here:

The Pope is defending immigrants, the poor, the sick, victims of war and famine — you know, literally everything Jesus talked about.

Trump is defending his ego.

Hegseth is defending a fictional hitman's monologue.

These three are NOT the same.

This week has been genuinely illuminating. Not because these men are hypocrites — we knew that. But because the mask is fully off now. This was never about Christianity. It was never about God or Jesus or any crusade of faith. It's about money. It's about power. It's about maintaining a system that keeps them at the top while the rest of us scramble beneath them.

They will invoke Jesus to win an election and forget His name the second a refugee needs shelter.

The Pope is doing Christianity. These men are cosplaying it — badly — while cashing the check.

The “frame remains the same”. Completed the upgrade of the second of my fourth hand built bike, my Eddy Merckx Mourenx 69 from Shimano Ultegra R8000 mechanical shifting 11-speed to the new Shimano Ultegra R8150 12-speed Di2 with electronic shifting and 4iiii Precision 3+ non drive side Powermeter with Apple Find My built in.

Ready to roll into 2023 on new carbon Zipp 303 S disc brake wheelset. Wider inner rim width 23 mm, hookless rim, 45 mm rim depth, 1530 grams. Set up with new Vittoria Corsa N.EXT TLR tires 700x28c with Orange Seal Endurance sealant.

New Charge Comfort E-Bike for Julie. Has a lower "comfort" step-thru and 27.5" versus 29" wheels than Julie's Liv/Giant 2019 Amiti E+2 E-Bike (which is now on the selling block).

Charge is a direct-to-consumer E-Bike company (same company Pon Holdings that has Cannondale, Schwinn, GT and Mongoose).

Ordered on Tuesday and delivered on Saturday.

Has a 250 watt Bafang hub drive with 36V 11.6 Ah Samsung battery. 7-speed Shimano Altus drive. Has 5 levels on pedal assist and separate thumb throttle.

Took about 30 minutes to unpack from box and assemble. Has some nice features like fold-down pedals and a lever clamp stem that allows the handlebars to easily rotate 90 degrees for storage. Has integrate headlight and taillight too.

We have the 2019 Liv/Giant Amiti E+2 on Facebook Marketplace.

2022 Upgrade to Giant TCR Advanced SL rim brake-- and yes you can still upgrade rim brake bikes.

Added Hunt Bike Wheel 3650 Aero Wide carbon wheel set. 19 mm inner rim width, 27 mm external rim width- front 36 mm deep, rear 50 mm deep 1450 grams. Picked Hunt Bike Wheels for great specs great price point, and great reviews.

Swapped brake calipers to Shimano Ultegra BR- R8000 to allow for 28 mm tires. Tubeless set up was great with the Hutchinson Fusion 5 All Season Storm 11 TLR tires, with Muc-Off tubeless valves and tape and Orange Seal Endurance Sealant. Kept the same Shimano HG-800 11-34 T cassette that I've standardized on (eight wheelsets rim and disc with the cassette)

Will keep the Giant SLR1 30 mm carbon rim wheelset as a spare for my two rim brake bikes.

Another arrow in the quiver- 2018 Giant TCR Advanced SL from The Pro's Closet Certified Pre-Owned selections. Decided to jump on the rim brake version of the TCR Advanced SL as I already have the disc brake version. I'm not one that feels rim brake bikes are dinosaurs. Road Bike Quiver now has two Merckx (rim and disc) and two Giant TCR Advanced SL (rim and disc).

New steed in the stable- 2021 Giant Revolt Advanced 0 Gravel/Allroad.

Shimano GRX RX-810 subcompact crank 48/31 with the Ultegra 11x34 cassette. I've added the Stages Gen 3 left-side power meter.

Giant hookless CX-2 carbon disc wheelset 622-25.

Second Gravel/Allroad bike joining the 2018 Canyon Grail CF SL and expanding the stable to eight.

Thanks to Mark and Tom at Ballwin Cycles and Scott at the Bike Center for getting the bike that has been a little hard to get a hold of.

First 2021 Bike Upgrade- Vision Metron 40 SL Tubeless carbon rim brake wheelset for my Eddy Merckx Mourenx 69 bike.

Saved 100 grams over my old (and now emergency spare) Mavic Ksyrium Pro UST while moving from 25 mm to 40 mm rim depth. Also moving to wider inner rim width allowing lower pressure cushier ride with same rolling resistance.

Great deal from merlincycles.com the U.K. retailer that has become one of my first stop when finding items online. 40% off the price at numerous U.S. retailers. Here in 4 days. Only caution with Merlin Cycles is know what you want as returns are complicated and expensive.

Completed the setup with Muc-Off tubeless tape and valves and Schwalbe Pro One Microskin Tubeless Easy 28 mm tires.

Now running carbon rims on all four of my road/gravel bikes.
