Magdalonie Campbell has more than twelve years of professional experience working closely with families, the board of education and governmental agencies to effectively and efficiently meet the needs of children. Her desire to serve the needs of children was molded by her humble beginnings, which led to her belief that every child is great and deserves a fair opportunity to succeed. Campbell perfo
rms her duties as a Child Protective Specialist in this same passion. As she is charged with investigating child abuse and neglect, she has also realizes there is a deeper need to also protect and nurture the educational interest of children. She believes there is a wholeness that is developed when a child receives the appropriate education for their unique needs. Campbell professional life has always focused on the development and improvement of systems. Throughout her professional and community work, she have always been credited for being proactive, open to multiple perspectives and being able to see the larger picture, while focusing on the details involved. She is considered a person who uses common sense and deductive reasoning at all times. Campbell understands the role of the School Board, which is to support the implementation of policies and practices that provide a fair education to all students. Campbell has no particular interest to promote any hidden agenda. Therefore, she believes in providing full transparency to the Baldwin taxpayers on how their tax dollars are being allocated. She will also listen to and investigate all available information on issues before forming an opinion and casting a vote. Campbell received her Bachelor of Arts in Forensic Psychology from John Jay College of Criminal Justice and has earned her Masters in Social Work Enterprise Administration from Columbia University. She is active in local political causes, is a member of the Baldwin Civic Association, NAACP, The Corridor Counts and many other respected committees. Campbell is currently married to a NYPD Sergeant and they have two handsome toddler boys.
