Jersey Shore GSV Little League Receives Grant to Support Youth Baseball Improvements
Jersey Shore GSV Little League is proud to announce it has received a grant from the Little League Fund for Youth Sports held at First Community Foundation Partnership of Pennsylvania (FCFP) to support improvements to local youth baseball facilities and programming.
Jersey Shore GSV Little League serves as the chartered Little League organization for several local areas, including Avis Little League, which utilizes the Pine Creek fields.
This funding will directly support the repair and replacement of the dugouts on the Minor and Major fields in Pine Creek. The project is designed to provide a safer, more functional, and more enjoyable space for hundreds of youth athletes and families who utilize the fields each season, as well as the broader community that uses the park year-round.
“We’re really grateful for this support. These fields mean a lot to our families, and this helps us make them safer and better for our kids,” said Brittney Worden, President of Jersey Shore GSV Little League.
“This is a huge win for our kids and our community. These fields get a lot of use, and having safe, updated dugouts is something that benefits everyone who steps onto them,” said Jamie Bower, Chair of Avis Little League.
“We are thankful for the support of the First Community Foundation Partnership of Pennsylvania, as well as our volunteers, community members, and Watson Township for stepping up to help make this project possible,” said Samantha Wian, Vice President of Juniors/Seniors for Jersey Shore GSV Little League.
The fields serve not only as the home for local Little League players, but also as a public space open to all residents. Improvements made possible through this grant will enhance safety, accessibility, and overall usability for everyone who visits the park.
The Little League Fund for Youth Sports, created in 2016, benefits Lycoming County organizations that promote youth activity and healthy living through sports. Grants support programs serving children under the age of 16 or individuals with special needs, with priority given to projects that remove barriers to participation or enhance the overall experience for youth athletes.
Funds for this project were provided by the Little League Fund for Youth Sports at the First Community Foundation Partnership of Pennsylvania.
