SaltmarshDANCE Saltmarsh Dance~ "Passion, perseverance, and precision build a dance artist." Cooperation and integration become necessities on a global stage. Ms.

Suzanne Saltmarsh

During this period of Isolation, Dance becomes a vital artform; to release our anxieties, open our spirits, and connect to others. Collaboration in the arts (music, dance, theater, architecture, literature) is reflected in my choreography. Collaboration expands vision and is important in order to grow as an artist. Performing, Choreographing and teaching for Douglas Anderson SOTA, La Villa, San Francisco SOTA, Martha Graham School NYC DBDT, Lines Ballet, Marin Ballet, Youth America Grande Prix and University in Lisbon, Portugal over the last 27 years. Saltmarsh formed Saltmarsh Dance in 1999, in San Francisco as a means to continue to build her choreography. She has choreographed for Martha Graham School, Marin Ballet, Dallas Black Dance Theater, San Francisco SOTA, SF Fringe Festival, Women’s Work and Douglas Anderson SOTA, La Villa SOTA, The Florida Ballet, Jacksonville University, IRCC, Chocolate Nutcracker, and YAGP. 🙏🎄blessings to all of you! My brother Michael (a true Warrior) attended mass last night with all of us. After a three month commitment to healing, he walked into the church. It was very emotional and powerful for all of our hope in life’s goodness and in the strength of Faith.
This Christmas has been a very challenging time after such a difficult year...I know many of you understand. Health, financial stress, depression, anxiety, and fear. Today, I wake and turn on my live mass with St. Cecelia’s Parrish in Boston that has been a guiding light during my time of I’m traveling back-and-forth for the doctor. Father John with his Boston accent and authentic words, has a way of bringing me back each time. Today though it wasn’t working sad face I forced myself up and came downstairs. It is the first night in 29 years that I slept on Christmas Eve. I always spend the whole evening preparing for my family filling stockings, wrapping presents and designing the living room into a magical place curtains to walk through as if you’re coming into a big surprise, this year I did none of these things. I went to bed after a crying session of two days after the passing of our unique dog Houdini(Zaviers 💜).

Now, I’m in the kitchen, making coffee haven’t even glanced at the Christmas tree. Still listening on my phone to the mass, my husband Yves calls out and says “Come look at the living room. I am hit with an overwhelming emotion of joy and nostalgia. My 17 year old daughter, Aria made the Christmas for all of us! She has taken out from all over our home small gifts. She has written us a little notes and cards, laid out champagne and fixings for mimosas, half eaten cookies from Santa’s visit, and she has recreated small details that she’s noticed her whole life!
My heart is full❣️
I am grateful🙏
… just like that I am healed.

It is the magic of the season🎄
with all the unrest,
all the unjust actions,
all the challenges of this fast-paced world!the actions, in the night, of one child alone…can bring
Hope and Joy
when needed most!

Blessings to you and your families today ❣️

My girl…Aria There she goes
Tender and sweet
My arms remember
We bond inexplicably
Together
Now split
Like lightening struck the tree
Into two worlds we remain
Unaltered from the pain
Our hearts forever entwined
The dance takes chapter three
You will always belong with me

This was my last “first day” of school for my children. This is my beautiful Aria Rathle, 16 years old, beginning her first day back at Douglas Anderson school of the Arts. Watching this beauty grow; pushing herself in her art form, taking risks, both on the stage, and in the dance classroom, remaining a true and loyal to her close friends, and opening her heart ♥️ up to love others and her family… has been one of the Extraordinary rewards of my life! Whatever this winding path may take those beautiful, twisted feet on, I will join you close by… support and love you as long as I am here on this earth! ❣️🦋
