🦄 I met Elizabeth Gilbert once.
Well actually, I bumped right into her and said, “That’s Elizabeth Gilbert!” I said that, those exact words, right to her face. 🤦🏼♀️
She was gracious and wonderful and said a quick hello back.
That tiny interaction was a gift. ✨ A reminder that the people I look up to are just people. Like you and like me. Yes, is a creative genius. She's a fairy godmother, a mentor, a voice of reason, a lifter of spirits. (She knows Oprah!) And she's a person. 👋🏼
Bumping into Elizabeth Gilbert gave me something else. 🕯 A tiny nudge. Towards her deep wisdom, her way with words, her endless pursuit of beauty and truth and love. At that moment, I felt the tiniest zing that I have a bit of that inside me too. And so do you.
🎊 Here's my wish for you in 2022 —
May you find moments of connection. May you see more truth and beauty and love. May you bump into the occasional reminder that no matter what, we're all just people trying to find our way.
