Dear AYBSA Families,

We want to provide everyone with an update regarding this season’s volunteer process and volunteer fees.

This year, we tried something new with how we tracked and handled volunteer hours. While our goal was to make the process easier and more organized, we recognize that it did not go as smoothly as we had hoped. As a board, we take responsibility for that.

We fell behind on tracking hours, reviewing volunteer submissions, and getting refunds processed in a timely manner. We understand that some families have been finished with baseball or softball for well over a month now and are still waiting for this to be resolved. That is not the experience we wanted families to have, and we feel that we dropped the ball.

We sincerely apologize and ask for your patience and understanding as we get everything wrapped up for this season.

If you feel you have competed all of your participant’s hours and paperwork, please come up to the MS football practice field tonight from 515-715pm to receive your refund envelope. Kishon Hoffman will be near the big yellow goal post (top right corner in the purple box on the attachment below). Kelly Klawitter and Kala Dorshorst will also be there this Thursday, Aug 20 from 515-715pm if tonight doesn’t work.

If you chose to shred or donate your check, you don’t have to do anything more and we appreciate your time you committed to our program.

For next season, we will be reevaluating the volunteer process before registration opens. Our goal is to have much clearer expectations, timelines, instructions, and communication from the very beginning so families know exactly what is required and when volunteer fees will be returned.

We appreciate everyone who volunteered their time this season. Our program depends heavily on parents, families, coaches, and community members stepping up to help, and we truly appreciate everything you do for AYBSA and our kids.

Please forgive us for falling behind on this. We will learn from it, make the necessary changes, and do better next season.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to complete our end-of-the-year survey. We have taken your comments, suggestions, and feedback into consideration, and we truly appreciate you sharing your thoughts with us.

With that being said, Kishon Hoffmann will be at the 3/4 Flag Football practice field this Tuesday, August 18, from 5:15–7:15 PM by the Auburndale Park sign to hand out volunteer fee refunds to those who chose to have their fee returned.

Before coming up, please check your email for a confirmation email from [email protected]. You will need to have received this confirmation before picking up your refund.

There are still many families who have not completed the final step of submitting the Google Volunteer Form. If you still need to complete this step, an email from our Volunteer Coordinator will be sent by the end of the day today with the information you need.

We appreciate your patience and understanding throughout this process. We tried a new system of operation and organization for this aspect of our program this season, and we appreciate everyone’s patience as we worked through the process.

It is officially confirmed that our 2026 season is coming to an end! 🎉

We want to take a moment to sincerely thank everyone who contributed their time, effort, support, and dedication to making this season a great one. Our program would not be possible without the incredible support of our players, families, volunteers, coaches, board members, community, and sponsors. ❤️

Because of all of you, we are able to continue providing meaningful opportunities and experiences for the youth baseball and softball players in our community.

As we wrap up the season, we’d love to hear from you! With anything we do, there is always room to grow, and your feedback is important to us. We want to know what you enjoyed, what we can improve on, and how we can continue making AYBSA the best program possible for our players and families.

Coming to The Design Monkey - I want everyone to know that I will be having an open house on Aug 6th, 11am-1pm. One of my reps will be bringing some of the newest styles coming out for the fall. We will have specials on our spirit wear, and drop your name in a drawing for one of the new style hoodies.

Whew! What a dusty, windy, warm—but incredibly successful—tournament weekend!

We can’t thank everyone enough for helping make our home tournaments some of the best around. A huge thank you to all of the teams, players, coaches, umpires, families, and spectators for making it such a great event.

We’d also like to extend our sincere appreciation to the Auburndale Lions Club, the Auburndale School District, the AYBSA Board, our volunteers, and everyone else who gave their time and support behind the scenes. It truly takes a community to make an event like this a success.

Thank you all for another amazing tournament. We couldn’t do it without you, and we look forward to seeing everyone again next year!

Reminder: Each AYBSA participant’s family is required to complete 2 volunteer hours. To receive your Volunteer Refund Fee, you must:

* Sign in and sign out at your volunteer shift.
* Complete the Volunteer Google Form after your shift.
