📢 Bowling Green Community Updates

I want to share 3 important updates with our community:

1. 🌧️ New Stormwater Fee – 2027
If you live inside Bowling Green city limits, starting in 2027, most households will pay a $4 monthly stormwater fee. This money will help with drainage, flooding, and stormwater systems.

2. 🇺🇸 Citizenship Assistance
Bowling Green has the NaturalizeBG program to help eligible green-card holders with some citizenship application costs. Funding is limited, so check with the City of Bowling Green for current availability.

3. 🏥 Kentucky Medicaid Changes
There are important Medicaid changes coming.

Starting October 1, 2026, some immigration statuses may no longer qualify for regular Medicaid because of federal changes.

Starting January 1, 2027, some adults ages 19–64 on Medicaid Expansion may need to complete 80 hours per month of work, school, job training, volunteering, or other approved activities.

⚠️ This does NOT apply to everyone. There are exemptions for certain people with disabilities, caregivers, pregnant women, some HCBS waiver members, and others.

Important: Don’t cancel your Medicaid because of something you hear online. Read your official notice, keep your information updated, and ask a kynector or Medicaid representative if you need help.

Please share this information with our community so everyone can prepare. ❤️

Eh Doh Paw Mi "DeeKu"

Last house, but definitely not least!

As we come to the last house of our Dee Ku celebration, we want to give a very special thank you to our Bowling Green Karenni community, everyone who came out and participated, and especially all the individuals who worked so hard to make everything possible.

From those organizing up front to those working quietly behind the scenes—preparing, cooking, setting up, cleaning, coordinating, and helping wherever needed—every contribution mattered.

Dee Ku is special because of our people, our culture, and the way we come together as one community. Thank you for keeping our traditions alive and for sharing this beautiful celebration with the next generation.

Together, we keep our culture and community strong. Happy Dee Ku! 🌾❤️
