Last up on our player recap series is….

#6 Anni Reynolds – Senior

2026 Team Captain.

Played in 21 of 22 games.

Batting Avg – .484

On Base % - .528 (How often getting on base)

Base Hits – 30, Walks – 8, Doubles – 5, Triples – 2

Out of the Park Home Run – 1

Runs Scored –15, Runs Batted In – 18

Stolen Bases – 14 in 14 attempts.

Innings Pitched – 108, Strikeouts – 96 (3rd in the conference).

Total Pitches – 2078, Complete Games – 17

The best way to start talking about Anni’s senior season is that she was a worker! Anni showed what it meant to be completely dialed into the game. She went out and did her business and let her play speak for her as I rarely heard a negative word. Anni was our Kentucky Derby horse when it came to pitching. She threw 2078 pitches while completing 17 games by herself. I’d tend to bet there wasn’t a pitcher in our conference that came close to those numbers. She pitched 108 innings while striking out 96 batters which was good for 3rd in our conference, and 23rd in all of Class 1A. With so much work and energy she put into pitching you’d think it would affect her batting; it didn’t. Anni was in the top 10 in conference stats in batting average, on-base percentage, slugging percentage, and stolen bases. Very impressive to say the least! To top it all off, she also hit her first ever over the fence homerun this season; what a special moment that was. Anni was a true leader with the way she handled herself and the way she lifted up her teammates. The lasting impact Anni had on our program will continue well after she leaves high school. There aren’t any of our returning players who weren’t influenced by her play, her determination, and her heart. Thank you for all you did for our team, and for me this season. You truly embody what it means to be a Lady Rambler. Good luck as you follow your dreams. I can’t wait to see where they take you.

Next up on our player recap series is….

#12 Lillian Irwin – Senior

Played in 20 of 22 games.

Batting Avg – .306

On Base % - .493 (How often getting on base)

Base Hits – 15, Walks – 18, Doubles – 2

Runs Scored –9, Runs Batted In – 13

Stolen Bases – 6 in 6 attempts.

Lilly hadn’t played softball since junior high and joined the team about a week before games started. She may have had a little rust on her, but that was gone within the first practice. She looked like she had never stopped playing. Lilly instantly made our team better. At first base she played incredible on defense. She made plays by stretching that made the coaches literally say, ‘how the heck did she do that?!?!’. If she could scoop it or do the splits to catch the ball, she did it! At the plate she was probably our most patient batter making the pitchers always battle her. She collected 18 walks, which by far was the most on our team. She also collected 15 base hits which was good on its own. But I believe the best way she made our team better was the way she supported everyone. Whether it was a few supporting words or a joke to get everyone laughing you could count on her being the one doing it. I remember once the other team didn’t have a batter on the lineup card and it was being discussed what should be done. There was Lilly in the background saying, “she’s good, just let her bat.” That was Lilly for you. Lilly left a lasting impression on the players and coaches. I truly wish I could have coached her for 4 years. What a journey it would’ve been. Good luck with your future plans and while you attend Indiana State. You’ll definitely be missed and are a great example of what a Rambler should be. Go Trees!!

Next up on our player recap series is….

#2 Mallorey Crosby – Senior

Played in 16 of 22 games.

Batting Avg – .500

On Base % - .571 (How often getting on base)

Base Hits – 24, Walks – 8, Doubles – 4

Runs Scored –9, Runs Batted In – 16

Stolen Bases – 11 in 11 attempts.

Mallorey had an excellent senior season. She was a steady presence in the field whether it was playing third, second, or first base. She made several plays and always seemed to know where to go with the ball. She was also very vocal, encouraging her teammates and calling out where the play was. At the plate she was just as great batting .500 and having high stats in several different categories. Mallorey made the most of what was her best season playing high school softball. She left an impact on the underclassmen that will no doubt help them grow in the game. Thank you, Mallorey for everything you did for our program. We wish nothing but the best for you in your future endeavors. You will forever be a Lady Rambler!

Next up on our player recap series is….

#1 Serenity Phillippo – Junior

Played in 21 of 22 games.

Batting Avg – .196

On Base % - .288 (How often getting on base)

Base Hits – 9, Walks – 6, Doubles – 1

Runs Scored –9, Runs Batted In – 1

Stolen Bases – 2 in 2 attempts.

Fielding % - .989, 87/88 put outs. Tied for 2nd in the conference.

Serenity had a fantastic season behind the plate. Her ability to block and catch balls in the dirt helped save multiple runs during the games. She had a calmness about her that helped her pitchers out tremendously. Her ability to frame the pitch earned extra strike calls as well. Serenity’s batting improved a lot towards the end of the season as she started making solid contact with the ball. She also showed her ability to play other positions when needed, as she played some at third and first this season as well.

Things to work on for next season: Continue her work at following the pitch all the way to her bat and making a smooth powerful swing. Fine tune her throws to the bases when runners are attempting to steal. Be a more vocal leader as a senior next season. I really see Serenity growing next season into one of the best catchers in the conference.
