Section V Class D Boys and Girls Cross Country Championships proved to be packed with competition at Lecthworth State Park. Despite the odds, the blue devils ran their best for their last race of the season. Liesel Hyman was first to come in for Attica running exactly a minute faster than her time in September at the same course. Rebekah Hess came in over a minute faster, followed by Ellie Meyer who improved her time at this course as well. Great work ladies!

Miguel Cebrian and Eli Crandall came in the top 20 out of over 100 runners. Despite their personal record and competitive times they were just outside the sectional medals and trip to states with a strong Class D. In fact, if they ran in Class C they would have received a medal and had been within 30 seconds of joining the state team. Coach Linsey is super proud of their grit and determination in this highly competitive class. True grit was also on display from Noah Sabatino. After battling a knee injury he gained 10 positions throughout the race cruising to a 20 second personal best for the course. Austin Sponaugle came in at a 20:12 as the third place finishers for the team.

Congrats to Alyssa George, Beau Hyman, and Miguel on your last cross country race. We wish you the best in the remainder of your senior year!

A team that cooks together...succeeds together! Congrats to Eli Crandall and Miguel Cebrian Pena for finishing in the top 7 for Division 1 for the Genesee-Livingston County Cross Country Championships at Wayland-Cohocton earning them an Allstar position! This was well deserved. These gentlemen are true competitors that leave it all at the finish line! All the runners did their best and look forward to a rest from racing until sectionals, November 8th at Letchworth State Park!

Our runners took on a hilly and technical course at Alexander's Field of Dreams twice last week. On Tuesday Miguel and Eli came in at 2nd and 3rd out of a field of 25. Running the same course at the Alexander Invitational Friday displayed our teams' strength and competitive nature. Coach Linsey was super proud for everyone dropping time from Tuesday to Friday's competition. Congratulations to Anna Martino and Liesel Hyman for earning ribbons for finishing in the top 30. Also our man Miguel finished 7th out if 90 runners earning him a shirt and Eli was 12th earning him a ribbon. The boys team finished 5th overall out of 9 teams, ahead of powerhouses Avon and Oakfield-Alabama-Elba. Congrats to all!

We also had fun pulling out some vintage warm-ups and uniforms. The elastic may have been shot, but these kids were pumped to look even more like a team!

Cross country did not have personal bests Tuesday night, but we certainly had fun in the mud! Hard races were ran by Eli Crandall, Miguel Cebrian Pena, and Austin Sponaugle sprinting through the finish to edge out their competition.

Congrats to Anna Martino for finishing 4th out of 18 runners with Liesel Hyman not far behind in 7th and Rebekah Hess and Alyssa George rounding out the top 10. While very wet, we were able to recognize our seniors. We're so happy they joined this team! Come and support our runners at Alexander next Tuesday and/or Friday!

The heat did not defeat our runners Saturday! Kudos to the gentlemen runners for finishing as a complete team at the mighty McQuaid Invite. They all had personal records finishing 34th out of 61 schools. Leading our blue devils was Miguel Cebrian Pena with a 17:34 placing 64th out of a field of 384 runners. Congrats to Austin Sponaugle for competing in his first official meet!
The cow bells were rowdy as the girls ran hard too. We love when we cross paths with our smiling Liesel, she keeps pushing herself to improve. Great runs were also had by Anna Martino and Rebekah Hess. This was a great experience for our athletes. Good luck tonight as they head to Byron Bergen.

Meet #2 - Letchworth State Park! The views and the times did not disappoint! Congrats to all our runners on improving their times from Tuesday. Big shout out to our girl Liesel Hyman dropping 5 minutes! Our top girl finisher was Anna Martino dropping 30 seconds and placing 80th out of 140 Division 2 runners.
On the boys side Beau Hyman dropped a minute and thirty seconds off his time! The top team finisher was John Alfiero finishing 28th out of a field of 196 Division 2 runners. John was only 3 seconds off from his sectional time on the same course last November. We are looking forward to big things ahead!

25' cross country season started with some stellar performances running along the Erie Canal at Holley Falls Park! Veteran John Alfiero battled in the top three throughout most of the race and finished 7th out of more than 30 runners. Miguel had a strong finish showing his strength on the hills placing 4th. Noah Sabatino also came in with a strong stride finishing in the middle of the pack followed by Beau Hyman. The girls team took down Notre Dame and Holley. Out of a field of 16 runners Anna Martino took 5th place. Taking spots 10 through 13 we're Rebekah Hess, Liesel Hyman, Ellie Meyer, and Alyssa George. We look forward to growing our teams and improving our individual performances each race!
