Brian Norman Jr. wants his place back at the top of the welterweight division.

The former WBO champion has set his sights on both Devin Haney and newly-crowned WBA champion Teofimo Lopez as he pushes for another world title opportunity.

Norman is now ranked #1 by the WBO following Keyshawn Davis' withdrawal from his mandatory shot at Haney. Norman believes that position will eventually put him in line for a rematch with the man who took his title last November.

I'm not going to lay into Ben Davinson, he wasn't the worst coach that's ever breathed oxygen when Fabio Wardley beat Joseph Parker and knocked out Frazer Clarke, or when Moses Itauma obliterated Dillian Whyte. But he isn't averse to criticism, and you have to say that in the Wardley vs. Dubois fight and last night's fight, both his fighters were looking to finish the fight too early.

When you're an inexperienced fighter, if you hurt your opponent and smell blood, you tend to rush in to finish the fight. When that happens, your corner needs to calm you down and drill it into your head that it's a 12-round fight and you need to conserve your energy. Wardley and Itauma gassed themselves out looking for the finish when it just wasn't there.

You can't do this in heavyweight boxing, especially against fighters who are tried and tested at completing and winning a 12-round fight. Ben has to address this, which he will know. The bloke is a smart operator. But you don't want this becoming a theme.
