🗞️ Both teams are searching for their first win. Coatesville Football was one play away from 1-0, while Northeast’s defense kept the Vikings competitive against Downingtown East before turnovers and a long rushing touchdown helped break the game open.
For C’Ville, Week 1 exposed areas that need improvement: defending a mobile quarterback, recognizing screens, open-field tackling and converting extra points. Offensively, the fourth quarter showed what the Red Raiders can become when the run and passing games begin complementing each other.
⚫️ C’VILLE PLAYERS TO WATCH
⭐ RB Andre Watson Jr. — Coming off 125 rushing yards and 2 TDs, including touchdown runs of 43 and 28 yards. The Red Raiders should establish him early.
⭐ QB Mikal Shank Jr. — The senior transfer continues developing chemistry with his new offense. Week 2 presents another opportunity for the passing game to take a step forward.
⭐ OL Max Hiller — The 5⭐️ senior brings physicality to the offensive front and can also impact the game defensively. His presence will be important to both establishing and stopping the run.
⭐ WR/DB Sage Bradshaw — Versatile two-way playmaker who led C’Ville in tackles and receiving yards in Week 1.

Downingtown East stayed committed to its running game even when Northeast defended it well early. Eventually, that persistence produced the 62-yard touchdown run that helped put the game away.
After Watson’s 125-yard performance in Week 1, C’Ville has every reason to test Northeast’s front for four quarters.
