USA Masters East Central Zone — Over 50 Regionals, Atlanta

🏆 CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL | Midwest Thunderbirds vs A-Boys - Midwest Thunderbirds won by 49 runs
The Midwest Thunderbirds were crowned champions of the inaugural MCUSA East Central Zone Over 50 Regionals in a fitting finale! Batting first, they posted a solid 172 all out in 42.1 overs. Mehul Shani was the cornerstone of the innings with a composed 45 off 82, stitching together the total with Priyank P (28 off 47) and Anshul B (22 off 42) providing solid support. A-Boys needed a big chase but were restricted to 123 all out in 30.4 overs. Adam Sanford once again led from the front with a gutsy 56 off 56 — almost single-handedly keeping A-Boys in the hunt — but found little support as Mehul S (3-15), Hemen P (2-12), and Vijayant W (2-30) dismantled the A Boys batting lineup. In the end, the Thunderbirds’ all-round strength proved too much, winning by 49 runs to claim the title along with the coveted Nationals spot.

🥉 3RD PLACE | Alphas Kings XI vs Central East Stars - Alphas Kings XI won by 80 runs
Alphas Kings XI signed off the tournament in emphatic fashion to claim third place. They posted a commanding 234 all out in 44.5 overs, with Jigarkumar S (41 off 35) providing an explosive start and Srikanth R (40 off 70) and Sanjeev S (38 off 36) building impressively through the innings. Central East Stars put up a fight in reply — Nasir (Charlie) J batted with great heart for 30 off 83, and Mahesh S chipped in with 29 — but they could only manage 154 all out in 40.2 overs. Jignesh P (2-10), Sanjeev S (2-19), and Ajay Kumar P (2-26) shared the bowling honours as AKX closed out a strong tournament.

🤝 FRIENDLY | EC3 Masters vs Atlanta Paramveers
EC3 Masters won by 85 runs
A wonderful gesture to close out the week — EC3 Masters and Atlanta Paramveers, both having endured a tough tournament, came together for a friendly that gave players well-deserved game time. Syed A was the standout, top-scoring with a fluent 66 off 83 to anchor EC3 to 215/7, with Ravi M (39) and Dilip M (25) in fine support. Atlanta Paramveers showed much improved fight, with Anil Kumar K top-scoring with 41, but were bowled out for 130. Lakshmipathy S was the pick of the EC3 bowlers with 4-38. Both sides will leave Atlanta with heads held high and memories to cherish.

What a historic week of masters cricket in Atlanta. Congratulations to all six teams for being part of this landmark first edition.

East-Central Zone, Masters Cricket USA — Over 50 Regionals, Atlanta

MATCH 1 | EC3 Masters vs Atlanta Paramveers
Forfeited — Winner: EC3 Masters
Atlanta Paramveers were unable to field a side for the second consecutive day, handing EC3 Masters a much-needed walkover. It’s a bittersweet result for EC3 — their first win of the tournament comes without a ball bowled. The Paramveers’ tournament has been severely disrupted by availability issues, a difficult situation for all involved.

MATCH 2 | Central East Stars vs Midwest Thunderbirds
Midwest Thunderbirds won by 6 wickets
The Thunderbirds continue their impressive run of form with a composed chase. Central East Stars posted a competitive 134 all out in 35 overs, with Kirti V (36 off 37), JV V (30 off 40), and Kumar D (23 off 40) doing the bulk of the scoring. Keyur P was excellent with the ball, returning 3-26 to keep the Stars in check. Captain Anshul Bamrolia then took centre stage with a superb 71 off 87 to anchor the chase, supported by a solid 33 from Apparsamy B, as the Thunderbirds cruised home at 135/4 in 30.4 overs with six wickets to spare.

A-Boys won by 2 wickets
Another nail-biting two-wicket thriller to close out the day — this tournament is delivering some classic finishes! Alphas Kings XI were bowled out for 126 in 40.3 overs, with Adnan R (32 off 78) and Srikanth R (24 off 50) offering the most resistance. Mukesh Seelal was outstanding with the ball, claiming 2-17 in his full 8 overs with relentless accuracy, while Shafiq J led the A Boys attack brilliantly with 4-20. A-Boys then produced a nervy but ultimately successful chase, reaching 127/8 in 24.3 overs. Ketan P top-scored with a vital 42 off 49, Shane F chipped in with 27, and Noman A (22 off 24) provided the lower-order grit needed. Himanshu Patadia’s 3-24 gave AKX real hope, but A-Boys held their nerve to sneak home.

Central East Stars roared back into form with a commanding all-round performance. They posted a formidable 231/7 in 45 overs, built on a stunning top-order blitz — JV V (Jwalant Vakil) top-scored with a classy 62 off 78, Jagadeesan T blazed 61 off just 51 balls, and Vimalkumar P contributed a steady 48 off 74. EC3 Masters crumbled in reply, bowled out for 115 in 41.3 overs. Amar N (3-14) and Nayan P (3-16) were the chief destroyers with the ball. A comprehensive statement win for the Stars.

What a finish. 🔥 The match of the tournament so far. Midwest Thunderbirds set a competitive 164/9 in 45 overs, with the innings held together by Priyank P (24), Krishna K (23 off 54), and a gritty Apparsamy B (23 off 69). A-Boys came agonizingly close in reply, reaching 162 all out in 35.5 overs before the last wicket fell. Adam Sanford was the hero with a counter-attacking 51 off just 39 balls, giving A-Boys every chance of pulling off the chase, with Shane F (31 off 53) providing excellent support. In the end, Ketan P’s superb 4-26 and Vijayant W’s 3-29 proved just enough to edge the Thunderbirds home in a two-run thriller.

MATCH 1 | A-Boys vs Central East Stars: A-Boys won by 100 runs
A-Boys put on a disciplined batting display to post 173/9 in their 45 overs, with Shane F (32 off 58) and Shafiq J (27 off 55) providing a solid foundation up top, supported by Mukesh S’s handy 21. Central East Stars, fresh off their Day 1 demolition of Atlanta Paramveers, couldn’t replicate that form with the bat and collapsed to 73 all out in 26.2 overs. Adam Sanford was the standout with ball in hand, extracting good figures to earn the Man of the Match, while three A-Boys bowlers — Adam S (2-7), Mohammed R (2-18), and Riad M (2-18) — shared the spoils with impressive economy. A-Boys march on with two wins from two.

They came out swinging and posted a massive 311 all out — the highest score of the tournament so far — with Dheerendra K leading from the front with a blazing 67 off just 71 balls. Priyank P (42 off 40) and Tushar P (35 off 26) provided explosive support to put the total well beyond reach. Atlanta Paramveers had no answer, folding to a desperate 37/9 in 12.4 overs, with Vijayant W (3-6) and Mehul S (3-9) ripping through the home side’s batting order. A 274-run margin of victory — emphatic doesn’t even cover it.

MATCH 3 | Alphas Kings XI vs EC3 Masters: Alphas Kings XI won by 152 runs
Alphas Kings XI continued their dominance of this tournament with another comprehensive victory. Robert Tulloch was the star of the show, stroking a majestic 79 off 91 balls to anchor the innings, while Sanjeev S played the perfect foil with a classy 62 off 87. Their partnership powered AKX to 221/9. EC3 Masters could never get going in reply and were dismissed for just 69 in 25.5 overs. Papa Rao A was devastating with the ball, returning figures of 4-7 in a spell that ripped the heart out of the EC3 batting lineup. AKX look like the team to beat.

MATCH 1 | Alphas Kings XI vs Midwest Thunderbirds: Alphas Kings XI won by 73 runs.

Alphas Kings XI set a competitive 126 on a testing day, with Hassan A anchoring the innings with a measured 47 off 86 balls. The Thunderbirds never got going in reply, crumbling to 53 all out in just 20.3 overs. The wrecker-in-chief was none other than Ranga Rajan, who produced a match-defining spell of 4-12 to dismantle the Thunderbirds top order. Gitesh D chipped in with 3-11 to seal a commanding 73-run victory for Alphas Kings XI.

🏆 CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL SHOWDOWN – USA Masters East Central Zone (Over 40s Regionals 2025) 🏆

It was the ultimate clash — the unbeaten Central East Kings facing off against Group B toppers Midwest Eagles — both teams dominant all tournament long.

Batting first, the Kings showed why they’ve been the team to beat! 💥
Skipper Darpan (Suno) Patel led from the front with a blazing 53 off 33 balls, well supported by Sai R (27) and Anand P (24) as CEK posted a competitive 188 in 38 overs.

The Eagles, who had soared through the group stages, fought hard but stumbled under the Kings’ disciplined bowling attack.
Despite a brave, lone battle from Sohail C (71 off 86), the chase never found momentum.
Darpan (Suno) Patel turned destroyer with the ball too, claiming 4/18, as the Eagles were bowled out for 118, giving the Central East Kings a thumping 70-run victory in the championship final! 👑🔥

O40s East Central Regionals Match Report:
Midwest Thunderbirds vs Kings XI Atlanta.

Kings XI Atlanta won by 23 runs against Midwest Thunderbirds. Batting first, Kings XI Atlanta scored 128/8 runs in 30 overs. Langford Spence was the highest run scorer with 39 runs in 36 balls. Keyur Patel took 4/19 runs in 6 overs.

While chasing, Midwest Thunderbirds was able to score 105/10 in 23 overs, after being 83/2 in 14 overs. Kamran Syed scored 55 runs (51 balls) but didn’t find any other player providing much support. Marlin, Ashish and Shane took 2 wickets apiece.
