Marietta Bassmasters

Marietta Bass Masters is the oldest B.A.S.S. affiliated club in the state of Georgia. We are also aligned with MLF, formerly FLW. Our members often qualify to fish both state and regional tournaments, as they move up through the qualifying ranks. A few have qualified and made it to the nationals, on several occasions.

We believe in sportsmanship, comradery, conservation and giving back to the community. We typically fish one tournament per month, year round, usually within +/- 120 mile radius of Atlanta, including Allatoona, Lanier, West Point, Logan Martin, Guntersville and Eufaula, to name a few.

You do NOT need a boat to be a member, we random draw and pair “non boaters” with boaters for each tournament on a rotating basis. Each angler weighs in and is scored separately.

Congratulations to the winners down at Eufala for the TBF National Semi-Final. While MBM’s Brent Tullis had a tough day one with uncooperative fish, he proved why he is so dominant, with a strong day 2 and overall Top 5 finish!! This was in the midst of having boat trouble.

This is why we fish against the lake and not other people!! Congrats on a strong day 2 Brent!!

Practice Day!! Please help us wish the 2023 TBF/FLW State Champ Brent Tullis and our co-angler representative John Doolittle the best this weekend.

They will be fishing the TBF National Semi-Final on Lake Eufala looking for a shot to represent Georgia at the TBF National Championship. In club fishing, this is why you fish 12 months and a state tournament…there’s no doubt they will do well!!

The Marietta Bassmasters kicked off our 2023-2024 season at Parksville Lake in Reliance, TN. Between lost fish and a little rain, the MANY time State Champ Brent Tullis came out on top!!!

Brent caught 13.94 pounds, all on topwater…even had a double on at one point. He won big fish with a 3.58 spotted bass!! Club president Dan Jones came in 2nd place for the boaters with 7.65 pounds, all caught on a 3/8oz hand tied jig.

Mr. “My boat is broke and I lost 2 4-pounders!” Scott Cleveland won the non-boater side with 2 fish weighing 3.85 pounds and big fish of 3.14. His 2nd fish barely moved the scales!! 2nd place for the non-boaters was the resident saltwater angler turned bass fisherman John Carney. John had 2 fish for 2.63 pounds.

MBM will have a home game on Lake Allatoona on October 14th. Our next club meeting will be virtual on Thursday October 5th for anyone looking to learn more about the club.

Congrats again to Brent for his usual fast start to the tournament season!! Only 11 months to catch him!!

Before kicking off our new 2023-2024 season, the Marietta Bassmasters want to recognize their Angler of the Year, Scott Cleveland and Co-Angler of the year Tony Reinert. Out of 12 possible tournaments, Scott beat the closest boater by over 28 pounds. For the 2nd year in a row Tony eclipsed the 2nd place non-boater by almost 10 pounds!!

Congrats to our top performers!! These guys had lots of opportunities for fish pics!! Now on to our new season at Parksville Lake in TN!!

The Marietta BassMasters grieve the loss of one of our longtime members, Todd Anderson. Todd was a wonderful member, always quick to offer a helping hand, and recipient of Co-angler of the Year many times during the 18 years he was in Marietta BassMasters. We will sorely miss Todd, always known as a wonderful friend to all who knew him. Godspeed our friend.

Our 19th YEAR! As you may know, The Marietta BassMasters have provided our annual Fishing Extravaganza for the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation for the past 18 years. This year’s event will be held on June 29th, 2019. We are proud and thankful that we have been able to give at least a day of respite to the families of these special children by providing a day of fun, fishing and food. Much of our ability to provide this wonderful day has been provided by generous donations from individuals and companies like yours.
