How Did “Hosanna!” Become “Crucify Him!” in Just One Week — And Why Similar Manipulations Still Work Today?
When Jesus entered Jerusalem, the crowds welcomed Him with palm branches and joyful shouts of “Hosanna!”
Yet only a week later, the same streets echoed with a very different cry: “Crucify Him!”
What happened?
How could people who witnessed miracles, heard profound wisdom, and felt divine love turn against Him so quickly?
The answer is manipulation.
The Pharisees and religious leaders of that time didn’t carry truth—but they mastered fear.
They knew which emotional buttons to press to plant doubt, stir aggression, and exploit the crowd’s weakness. They fueled emotions until conscience and reason drowned in the noise of the majority.
And you know what?
Nothing has changed.
Today, crowds are still swayed—through fear, guilt, scarcity, comparison, and false promises.
— One post can destroy a reputation.
— One rumor can break a family.
— One influencer can steer the masses off course.
Socrates once said, “The crowd is not proof of truth.”
And Jesus demonstrated that standing in truth often means standing alone.
So here are a few questions to ask yourself daily:
— Whose voice am I listening to?
— What shapes my beliefs?
— Are my standards anchored internally—or externally?
As John Maxwell reminds us, “Leadership is influence.”
Which means: we’re either influencing—or being influenced.
The world may change, but spiritual principles remain the same:
Truth doesn’t shout. Truth lives quietly in alignment with your soul. Align your goals with your heart, your thoughts with your soul, be a leader of your life!
