Creating A "Balanced" Dressage Horse with Erica and Mr. Big!

A humbling testimonial from Erica about the time and accomplishments she and Mr. Big have made with my guidance and support. Both their physical, mental, and emotional needs are being met, while building foundational mutual communication.

Erica participates in local dressage clinics and the confidence and trust she and Big have found with each other at new facilities is inspiring to see. Erica has built a consistent sense of safety for Big when they go off property. Friends and clinicians have noticed the change and commented on the difference in Big and Erica's partnership. In turn, their riding has soared as their trust bank account is taken from their online groundplay to the saddle. I'm honored to have been a part of that progress.

How did I not see any of this 1 hour ago!!! A equine chiropractor's observations of the need to 'widen the lens' of our observational skills. For our horses welfare/healthcare and our own!!

"How did I not see any of this an hour ago?" A practitioner typed that into the chat last night, and it might be the most important question in animal healthcare. Bradley Whale and I ran a clinical assessment workshop for equine chiropractors. Near the start, we showed the room a photograph of a hor...

This was a great group from Mansfield Energy that came to Zorro's to learn about the 'Wisdom of the Horse' and the power of collaborative leadership. Positive reinforcement with properly timed rewards learned from the horses transferred right to the group's leadership skills!

It was a fun and productive workshop, thanks to all from Mansfield Energy that participated. CLICK!!!

A little inspiration for you today:

"Instead of saying 'I don't have time,' say 'It's not a priority' and see how that feels."

Whoa !! That's really something to ponder!

Time is our most valuable asset with a doubt.

My connection and relationship with my horses is a priority. ❤

This 'priority' is why I always schedule lessons for myself 2 x week with my horses. If the weather is inclement, I go to my written and thought work. I'm always working on specific journal 'exercises' with each horse and their training schedules.

Do you want to progress with your horse? My video coaching program might be your answer.

Warm season and cool season grass hays vary from region to region. In central Georgia, bermuda is considered a native grass so the majority of hay baled is coastal bermuda or a bermuda hybrid, like Tift 45. Bermuda is generally baled in round and square bales.

Bermuda is a warm season grass and generally has a NSC (non soluble carbohydrate) of 10% or below. Metabolic horses, such as IR, EMS, PPSM, and PPID, need the lowest NSC possible.

Choosing a hay to feed your horse can be difficult, especially with so many hay types available. Here, an expert helps make the decision.

Stop Setting Goals...with Your Horsemanship

Goal setting did not work...for me.

Let me explain why I believe this and how goal setting has not worked for me.

We all have things we want to achieve...in life and with our horsemanship.

"I want to ride in that horse show next weekend"..."I want to drop 10lbs"..."I want to write that book"..."I want to beat my half-marathon time".

Sound familiar? It certainly did to me!

But goals can be inherently problematic....
