Pain has always been a stop sign for me. If it hurt, physically, mentally, or emotionally, I'd quit. With all my years, and too much experience, I'm learning that most pain is not a stop sign, but a yield sign.
I've learned to question my pain instead of immediately stopping.
I realize that I can avoid future pain by learning what caused this pain.
I can be grateful for the circumstances and the opportunities they bring.
I can grow spiritually if I'll ask for insight from the Holy Spirit.
I can develop resilience and endurance by embracing the pain and moving forward, even if each step wants me to stop.
This morning's workout and run were rough. I'm super sore from a brutal leg day on Friday plus 2 days of helping my son move Friday and Saturday.
I could have skipped today. No one would care.
I chose to do the work because I knew why I was in pain and that the pain was temporary. I, also, knew that by doing the work I would be better in the long run.
I hope this connects with some part of your life. The pain you are facing is temporary, and by moving forward you will be better.
