Thanks to all the Volunteer Head and Assistant coaches we had this season in the SPC Program. It was a great year for the program and it was nice to see we really didn't have any big issues with our teams or program.

Congratulations to the 3 undefeated Division Champions and they will be recognized on the QA morning Show next week.
• SPC3B1-Smith and Loquasto
• SPC4G1-Daley and Showalter
• SPC8G1-Davis and Eatz

Overall it was a pretty good year for the SPC Program, here are some highlights
1. Tied with OLA, JUD, SJN, and IHM with most Division Champions (3)
2. Tied with SJN and IHM for most undefeated Champions (3)
3. Boys Program tied for 6th overall record out of 14 teams
4. Girls Program tied for 5th overall record out of 14 teams
5. Overall Program was tied for 5th overall record with a 77-70 record

Good luck to all the 5th through 8th grade teams in the tournament this weekend and hope to see you playing at Championship Saturday Feb 10th @ Blessed Trinity!

Another great year for the Sam Robb Tournament! Thanks to the Robb Family for organizing a great event for a great cause.

This year SPC entered 5 teams in four divisions and had a team in the championship game in all 4 divisions. Even though the outcome didn’t result in any championship wins the kids played great!

Thanks to all that played, coached, and watched all the games.

CMLA Board has unfortunately already cancelled all basketball games for tomorrow! These games also will not be made up as there are no open weekends or gyms to reschedule over 120 games that are cancelled. Sorry!

Congrats to all the SPC teams this weekend! Overall, program went 8-9 with a couple close losses.

I haven't been able to finalize Team of the Week for QA morning show yet but this week I would like to highlight some big wins.

In the 3B division, 3B-Smith/Loquasto pulled out a close win over OLA with a buzzer beating shot by young H. Hollier! 4B-Lister also pulled out a close victory over St. Jude and both 6B-Nealis and 6B-Macalouso had wins over 2 HSP teams. The motion offense was running to perfection in those wins and I witnessed great sportsmanship from both coaches in pulling up in 2nd half.

On the girls side, great day with wins by 4G-Daley and 7G-OReilly. 5G-Pearl and 8G-Davis continuing their dominance of the CMLA with wins as well. The Game of the Day resulted in a loss but the 6G-Lister girls fought hard losing in OT on a shot with 1.7 secs left (though I thought the coach called TO with 2.4 secs which could have been a difference!)

Congrats to all and look forward to a great season from all teams.

SPC Basketball Schedule is officially published on the website.

Games begin next Saturday and we are looking forward to another great season for SPC grades 3rd through 8th grade.

Your coaches should be communicating out, your schedule and rules for season today and tomorrow.

Remember as parents, please respect the referees and other team parents and bring good sportsmanship to the games.

Never yell at kids playing as the league has a zero tolerance policy and you will be kicked out. I know we have great parents so I am not worried!

2017-2018 CMLA Basketball Registration
Welcome CMLA 2017-2018 players!

Registration for this season is open and will close Sept 9th, 2017

You must register here to play and you must be on a roster to actually participate.
Information about CMLA
• Divisions divided by Grade (kids must register in the grade they are in)
• Divisions are divided into boys and girls 3rd grade through 8th grade
• 10 Game Schedule
• Practice (1 day per week) begins Oct 1st
• Games on Saturdays begin Nov 4th
• CMLA Playoffs for 5th grade through 8th grade
• Cost for Season is $145.00 ($10 Sibling discount, $350 Family Maximum)
• All teams will have a Minimum of 8 players. Teams of maximum 10 players are recommended.
• Practice times in the Queen of Angels gym will be determined once a complete roster is submitted.

Information about SPC Basketball Tip-Off Program
• Open to 1st and 2nd Grade boys and girls
• 1 hour practice 1 day per week, 1 scrimmage on Sundays
• 8 Week Season
• Season begins Nov 5th
• Cost for Season is $90.00 (Jersey and Basketball included)

CMLA Championship Weekend is tomorrow at BT 10 am - 7 pm.

SPC has two teams representing 5B and 7G divisions.

As expected, the heavily favored 7G-Hernan/Eatz/Davis team will be looking for a 3-peat championship and remain undefeated for the past 5 years against a strong STM team. They start the day off with the first game at 10 am.

In a Cinderella run, the 5B-Macaluso team who were 5-4 in regular season and the 10th seed have come from behind the past two weeks to win in OT over two 8-1 teams. The most remarkable win was last Sunday as they scored 5 pts in 10 seconds to force OT and eventually win over an IHM team with some very non-sportsmanship like coaches (I think they got some Sam Robb Karma on that one!). They will battle another 8-1 IHM team at 4:15 pm.

Come out and root your SPC program on!!
