Basketball is hurting right now, not because of the players, but because of the culture around it.
The game doesn’t need more critics pointing fingers, chasing clout, or exploiting kids for wins, rankings, or attention.
It needs caretakers.
People willing to protect the purity of the game, the confidence of the player, and the process of development.
Caretakers teach instead of tearing down.
They pour into kids when it’s inconvenient.
They value growth over trophies, character over claps, and long-term development over short-term praise.
Basketball was never meant to be rushed, politicized, or weaponized.
It was meant to teach discipline, resilience, humility, and love for the work.
If you truly love the game, you protect it.
If you truly love the kids, you build them, especially when no one is watching.
This is bigger than basketball.
This is responsibility.
