With all the ideas being throwed around to help move the sport forward and out of the box thinking I have been thinking about something for quite sometime that I believe could be a very fun format and also lucrative for the Amateur that owns his own dog, I think a Team Championship would be a blast, here's what I envision ;

We choose 6 trials that would be designated as team pts trials using 6 trials spread out geographically to ensure those trials get worthy participation because of limited team pts trials forcing teams to travel and support these trial thus improving entries

Form a 2 man/ 2 dog team with a team name. Each team pays say a $500 entry that goes to the payback for the Team Championship let's say top 6 teams qualify for the team championship (12 dogs) $5000 total purse plus added money

Team Championship is a 3 day event each day is its own trial and placements 1-3 given daily at the end of the 3 days points are tallied for the championship trial as well as year end points The purse is won and legal because you own your dog and can accept a purse

Team logo apparel and sponsorship could go along way moving forward could also have a derby team championship using same terms

The top ten teams would vote on nominated judges (3) therefore obody could complain about the judges picked for the event

Add a Calcutta before the championship on social media for added fun

Austen Turley and Affinity the eventual National Champion with her first find of the hour right at the 1st road crossing, Affinity went on to run a true prairie all age race with another find with a mixed covey of pheasants and Huns in the corner cover of a canola field
