Athens Art Project

Athens Art Project In collaboration with the Athens Housing Authority, Athens Art Project serves to empower youth through art, foster self-expression, and integrate communities.

Athens-Clarke County is among the poorest counties of its size in the United States. 34% of the population lives below the poverty level, trapped in generational poverty. The project works with elementary-aged children living in the federal housing projects of Athens-Clarke County (Georgia). As part of the effort to help break the cycle of poverty in the county, the project seeks to empower partic

ipants and spread awareness about opportunities for higher education. Athens Art Project is supported by the ANNpower Vital Voices Initiative.
